No, they are modified with glands that help them fight better, like the wiki says. Not necessarily cybernetic.

The only artwork I know of was in that old WD article. It consisted of pictures of the conversions made for these new Abhuman troops.

- The Feral Ogryns were made from plastic Ogres by adding helmets and stuff
- Beastmen were IG troopers with beastmen heads
- Afriel Strain were more or less regular troopers painted as albinos
- Nightsiders had no eyes ( sculpted with Green Stuff )
- Gland Warriors were made from Catachans by adding dome CCWs and small bits to their skin representing chemical pumping glands
- Subs were hunched and cloaked

Can“t remember the specific point costs or additional rules they had ( Afriels had "And They Shall Know No Fear" if I recall correctly ). Gland Warriors had something to do with psychology too.

Gland War Veterans are not abhumans strictly speaking. Abhumans are strains of stable mutation, like Ogryns for example. Gland War Veterans were ordinary humans augmented by the Adeptus Mechanicus and originate in the blurb given for the sample Imperial Guard Veteran character Sergeant Stone in the Inquisitor rulebook.

When the forge world of Dantis III was invaded by Tyranids, Imperial Guard regiments from the nearby world of Lostok were drafted in to combat the menace. The surface of Dantis III was heavily polluted and the infestation of deadly Tyranid organisms made fighting outside the factory-complexes almost impossible. A few companies of the Lostok 23rd were modified by the Techpriests to fight in this hellish warzone, incorporating many organs and drug-secreting glands that enabled them to survive unprotected, as well as boosting their combat abilities and aggressiveness. Only three Gland Warriors are believed to have survived the conflict, and Sergeant Stone was one of them. After the successful defence of Dantis III, Sergeant Stone was amongst those taken by the Inquisition for debriefing and study, later ending up in the retinue of Inquisitor Tyrus.

I wish my lawn was emo...
Then it would cut itself.

In the end, SoB are uppity female canines who enjoy their faith in the emperor so much, I'd say they themselves are no longer truly human. They've given up normal life in exchange to become bolter-bitches.
