Finally picked up my brushes again after a 7 month hiatus:

Couldn't resist picking up a Trygon for my Tyranids

and a Tyrant Guard Brood (3)

And a Baneblade that has been partially completed for months. It's mostly done, just need to finish the tank commander (which I think the cat may have run off with since he's nowhere to be found) and some small details. Looking for a source of weathering powders.

Try a train hobby store for weathering powders. That's where I picked mine up from.

Picked up a box of rust and black from my local train store. $6.50. Just need to experiment with brushes and application.

I can't wait to see the results! Nice, classic-looking Tyranids too.

Make sure you do the weathering AFTER the project is actually sealed with varnish. You don't want to mess with it on anything unvarnished, especially considering you'll be using things like mineral spirits or rubbing alcohol.

It's something I learned the hard way working on my Chieftain Mk. IV.

I prime with Rustoleum hi-heat Almond then wash with Liquitex Raw Umber mixed with some water and glaze medium. When it's dry, I drybrush a little bit of bleached bone and white on the highlights.

Your nids look great, but personally I favor a heavier highlighting effect. Yours is subtle, but yet awesome all the same. Great stuff, looking forward to more! Welcome back, btw.
