Sealed in a box- in a state of flux

For a while, I have been thinking about setting up an RPG game, probably WFB, at my FLGS. A few things that have popped up though.

What terrain/ maps do people use/think to be best?

Minis or no minis (I am aware of the other thread for this question but I want to know what people think for a bunch of RPG noobs)

How often and how long?

Which system (price and personal opinions)?

Tanks

WFRP/DH are good choices for many players coming from a wargaming background, similar stats and familiar fluff.

However, the hardest problem I find with making wargamers into roleplayers is getting them to ROLEPLAY - they tend to think of it as a game that has to be won, which of course isn't really the case.

I'd use mini's if you think they won't get too carried away with the combat aspect of the game, and have a search for a good roll-up battlemat on the net (can't think of anywhere that has any right now, need to look for a new one myself so I'll post again later when I've found some good ones).

Once a week for about 3 to 4 hours is what I tend to use for newer groups.

I'd post more but I'm just about to go out to walk the dogs so hope that helps.

"A heathen, conceivably. But not, I hope, an unenlightened one."

Eeeeh, wargaming weren't like this back in my day!
