I use to play this game when I was a kid and I loved it. I gave it all up but surprised it is still around. I can't find any stores that sell them anymore, but read you can get them online. I am just wundering if there is still a community out there for Battletech, and if anyone still plays it.

*edit* ah I see I am in the wrong forum, I see there is another topic in a different forum wich I just noticed. Sorry about that.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I still play Battletech, very much in fact. Right now I'm working on a Lyran Alliance force of two lances in order to play a friend who has a clan force.

I used to play regularly (weekly) with my friends, but they got into 40k because they somehow thought it would be simpler. Luckily they are now beginning to understand the limitations of GW's approach to rule systems, so maybe I can woo them back to some classic Mech on Mech action.

Topps owns it as far as I know.

I played Battletech for over a year when I lived in another state. But I haven't been able to play in a VERY long time.

But then again we don't even have a gaming store here. My house has become the place for gaming, my broke ass friends won't shell out money for any new games. So I've been stuck in WHFB for far to long. I rarely play 40k, never Battletech, and I really want to learn Warmachine.

I look at my models on the shelf and hope.

A gamer I am. Game I must.

I've never been able to contact nearby players on any of those sites. Maybe a problem with my browser. How do you get in touch with people?

Knock on windows at night while wearing dark clothes. It works.

Then hold up a sign that says "Play Battletech with me."

It's why I'm married, too.

On a mildly more serious note, where is Knox, Indiana? I've been all over the state and can't remember seeing it. It would be quite funny if I was your resident Demo Agent.

Our group has tons of figures and B-tech is strong in PA/NJ where I live. The issue is with MegaMek at our disposal, it kind of takes it away from the tabletop for us.

As much as it kills me to say it, I have been really debating on getting rid of my B-tech minis. We just never play it anymore.

I already have already got read of my B-Tech Stuff. I had built the Eridani Light Horse Regiments using the set-up from the very first Mercenary Handbook and am currently down to one mech and a company of Infantry.

Just hadn't played in that long and didn't/doesn't look like Battletech is going to rise again, here.

I wish I could play more often. I used to play with a group that would let me use customized mechs. My favorite was when I fielded Heavy Arms from Gundam Wing. Took a bit of tweaking but made it work in the game.

I have a crapton of Battletech minis, but one look at the enormous rulebooks added to the lack of battletech players in my community put me off of my dream of blowing things up with my smecksy Vulture.

I'm a longtime fan of the BattleTech setting, but I didn't really like the recent massive rules overhaul or the direction the storyline has taken post-3067.

I still have a bunch of minis in 1st Federated Commonwealth Corps RCT colors sitting around my room, but I haven't played (aside from MegaMek) for years.

We play 1-2 times per month. There are 6 players in our campaign. We are part of a mercenary unit. Pretty fun game. We are using the Mechwarrior RPG rules as well as the Classic Battletech rules.

Here is the light Mech I was assigned by our GM. STH-1D Stealth.

SRM 6
Streak SRM 2
2x Medium Laser
Beagle Active Probe (good for hunting hidden stuff)

Walk: 7
Run: 11
and it has MASC (supped up Myomer muscles) which allow you to sprint for 14 every now and then.
