I've been stumped for a while on how to cover the metal stork like things attached to the base on my seraphim models. I dont like the way they look and after going through many options I simply cant think of a way to cover them up and still have the appearence of flight in them.
Apart from switching to clear stands (which I dont wanna do and am not sure will even work) theres nothing I can think of that would work.
Just wondering if there were any suggestions.
Example:

I've got my marine alighting on that rock, which is from a resin base that I made. He's pinned to that rock, and so you could do the same with your seraphim. Find a style of resin base you like, and then pin your seraphim to that base. Leave the pins a bit long, and she'll look like she's above the ground. Obscure the pins by painting them black and/or using tall hobby grass (or some other visual block.

But the problem is that unlike assault marines seraphims dont look like there leaping into flight they appear like there in mid flight so attaching something to them would look like there on the tips of there toes which is why this has become a such a problem.

Clip the feet tab off the base.
Stick 2 wires on their jump pack down to the base , stuff cotton ball on the wire.

In that case cover the whole base with cotton ball , now they are clouds.

Take some cotton wool, tear it into strips, paint each bit in a differing shade of grey (from black to white) then artfully arrange them in curls on the base. It looks like smoke from the jetpacks when done properly and hides those silly tabs
I hope you remember to weight the bases Those things just won't stay standing otherwise.

Barring inventing antigravity technology, there's going to have to be a physical support structure. There's no getting around it.
And my suggestion did not involve the seraphim on the rocks, it involved a thinner (but sturdier) support drilled into a resin base leading up to a "hovering" seraphim. Resin bases are solid, easily drillable, and are weighty enough to help counter balance a seraphim. It would be similar to what the gentleman here has done (though both the length and the gauge of wire he's using seems larger than it needs to be). Alternately, you can do the same thing with small flight stand stems inserted into resin bases.

You could do something ike this:
Use wire as internal support with expanding foam to form a smoke trail. then paint as desired and attach model to top...

The other down side of using cotton- is it doesnt hold up at all for table top use. it goes flat and loses its shape from handling & movement, and being transported. I used to have some as some on my storm boys and took it off after a few months when it got kinda ragged and flat :(
For the OP, the option CT Gamer suggested, it doesnt have to be smoke- that close to the ground theres going to be dust kicked up- so sculpting some jet blast from the pack(doesnt have to reach the ground) then you can add some dust clouds maybe?
Or, just go for lots of little bushes, some lichen & static grass will cover those posts up pretty easy but wont add any sense of dynamic flight.
