Hey,

I've just got a silly question concerning saves which you can use against the wounds caused by undead crumbling and magnificent buboes.

So that leaves you with either a ward save, regen save or both, question being :
can you roll ward for those wounds and then roll for regeneration as well? Or do either buboes or crumbling ignore either of those?

My understanding was that you can take both of those rolls, but I just wanted to clarify this for my group.

Both Ward and Regen saves are allowed.

yes as it says for both cases 'ignore armour saves' not ward or regen

Very few items negate ward saves and regen. Flaming attacks ignore regen, and off the top of my head the lizardmen Blade of Realities ignores all saves, wards and regen included. I'm sure other armies have items that ignore wards as well.

If a rule does not specify action against a save then it is assumed to still have effect.

Skaven Dreaded Thirteenth Spell says" No saves of any kind may be used against the magic of the horned rat".

For me, and the way we will play this in our group, is that no save at all may be taken. This includes, armor, ward, and regen. Does anyone else read this differently? I was talkin to a friend of mine and he argued that a regen roll is technically not a save. Thoughts???

My two coppers...

Direct quote from page 96 BRB:

" This rule confers a special regeneration SAVE to the model which works exactly like a 4+ ward save with the following exceptions"

Quite clearly a save and thus negated by rules which say "no saves of any kind"

Orkimedes - given that is also does not confer wounds onto the unit, but removes models, saves would not work at all regardless of that phrase.

Hence the 25+ to cast the spell, kind of like 15+ to cast Gateway, with the chance not to roll 11 or 12 for the Str. Dreaded 13th is pretty nasty if you can get it off or get it off a misfire.

Yeah, although a 1 in 6 chance to cast it with 2 dice is ok.
Anyway it doesn't need to say that dreaded thirteenth ignores all saves as like nosferatu said it does not create wounds, hence no saves apply unless a very very pricey magic item says you get a 5+ save against it for 75points...
