I won the roll off and choose to go second. He deployed his lascannon squad in some area terrain. Deployed his heavy weapon squad in the other area terrain. He also deployed his
HQ squad near the left side. I deployed only my guardians on the objective in the ruins.
Guard Turn 1:
He brings everything on except the vendetta, sentinals, and marbo. Everything moves as fast as possible. He issues run,run,run to everyone he can.
Eldar Turn 1:
I also bring everything on. The avatar, eldrad and warlocks all stay close together and all run. The wraithlords stay close behind. The fire dragon serpent moves flat out. The dire avengers serpent moves 12, and so does the falcon. I try and see some things but due to night fighting I cant hit anything.
Guard Turn 2:
He does awesome on his reserve rolls and gets all 3 of his reserves (crap…). The vendetta was his choice at side, and he brought it in on my right at my table edge. Parashooting his special weapon team out. I believe he moved his vendetta flat out. The sentials roll for the right side and he brings them closer the middle. He places marbo right behind my guardians. He continues to move all his troops up. Issueing more run,run,run. The hellhound moves 12” forward as well. His special weapon team wreck my dire avenger serpent with melta guns and my dire avengers are killed in the explosion, and the remaining few flee off the board. The rest of his armies shooting is rather ineffective. Marbo tosses his bomb over my guardians but it scatters terribly and kills one guardian.
Eldar Turn 2:
I change directions with my wraithlords and head towards the vendetta and special weapons team. I move my dragons towards the hellhound and unload them. Wraithlord and eldrad continue to run. My wraithlord kills a few special weapons members. And the other wraithlord tries to shoot the vendetta down. The fire dragons easily wreck the hellhound but lose 3 in the explosion. The fire dragon serpent easily wrecks both sentinals due to open-top and squadron rules. My one wraithlord who shot the vendetta charges it and gets 2 6’s, which auto-pen. And I continue to wreck it after that. My guardians easily decimate marbo. His special weapon team fail their morale and fall back.
Guard 3:
He continues to press forward with his lines, now making it into the trenches where his objective is. He kills off the remaining fire dragons from the heavy weapons team. His special weapon team continues to fall back. Straken and his company move towards avatar and eldrad. The snipers shoot at the wraithlords and put a wound on one.
Eldar 3:
Edrad and avatar keep running. Shooting has me kill a bunch of guardsmen on the objective. Pretty uneventful.
Guard 4:
Straken and his bodyguards charge into eldrad. The rest of his shooting cant hurt my elder tanks. He tries to shoot down the wraithlords but their high toughness wont break. Combat has eldrad wound straken and kill a body guard. Neighter wound eldrad. I win combat, but he passes morale.
Eldar 4:
Avatar charges towards the guardsmen on the objective. Shooting has me killing more guardsmen. One unit fails their morale and falls back way off the objective. In combat I kill the remaining bodyguard and leave straken with 1 wound.
Guard 5:
His special weapons keep falling back. He tries to shoot down the avatar but cant find any way to wound the fortuned beast. Combat has straken die.
Eldar 5:
Avatar charges and decimates a squad on the objective. I move my falcon up within 3” of the objective to contest it.
Guard 6:
Not much left on the table for the guard. All his shooting has turned towards the avatar (should have shot my falcon).
Eldar 6:
I kill the further guard squad easily. I consolidate towards the lascannon crew. If it goes to 7 illdecimate them next. Ive already won (unless he can explode and kill all 5 dire avengers).
Guard 7:
We do goto 7. He tries to again wound the avatar. Cannt wound it though.
Eldar 7:
Not much left to do, ive already won, I charge the lascannon squad for fun and kill all 3.
