A small report on a game for a local Combat Patrol tournament, pitching Marines against bugs, in an attempt to break through and alert the rest of the defenders of the incoming invasion. Maps and commentary:

You opponent fielded the worst Tyranid list I've ever seen! Unless it was specifically chosen for the mission, which improves it slightly, but it still wasn't great.

That said, still an interesting read, very enjoyable. Thanks for posting.

Definitely chosen for the mission, and remember that the Combat Patrol restrictions are pretty tight. I'm not super familiar with the 4th Edition codex, but I think the basic options in that are Hormagants, Termagants, Warriors, Genestealers, and Lictors; maybe Gargoyles?

The new book is basically completely unworkable under the classic Combat Patrol rules. There are only a couple creatures that fit in the rules---many of the units having gone to 3 wounds---and none of them are Synapse Creatures, so none of the guys in the tournament have upgraded to the new book for their matches.

Hmm, you couldn't link the combat patrol rules, could you? Maybe I was a little harsh, I thought you were just calling them combat patrols as fluff for the low points value, I know a lot of people do.
