Hello fellow green-skins!
I've built a 1000p ork army and have played about ten games with it so far without losing a single fray. I've stomped Death Guard, Imperial Guard and Space Wolves.
This is the army:
Warboss "Uzkhaar da Red": powerclaw, 85p (Evil Sun)
3 meganobz, 120p (Bad moons)
6 tank bustas: 1 tankhammer, nob w. powerclaw, 115p (Bad moons)
11 boyz: slugga & choppa, trukk (Evil sunz)
12 boyz: slugga & choppa, nob w. big choppa, trukk, 122p (Evil sunz)
20 boyz: shootas, 2 big shootas, 130p (Bad moons)
12 gretchin + runtherd, 46p (Bad moons)
4 warbikes, 100p (Evil sunz)
3 warbuggies, 90p (Evil sunz)
Deff dread w. scorcha & rokkit launcha, 90p (Bad moon)
This army has performed very well in all battles so far, and even withstood a 1500p imperial guard onslaught.
However, I'm now working on adding another 500p, but I fear that my choices and upgrades may be grounded more in what models I want to paint than rational thinking.
The list (1500p) I wrote looks like this:
Warboss "Uzkhaar da red": powerclaw, 85p (Evil sun)
Weirdboy, 55p (Bad moon)
6 nobz: cybork bodies, 1 powerclaw, painboy, trukk, 240p (Evil sunz)
3 meganobz, 120p (Bad moons)
6 tankbustas: nob w. powerclaw, 1 tankhammer, 115p
20 boyz: shootas, 1 big shoota, 1 rokkit launcha, 135p
25 boyz: slugga & choppa, nob w. powerclaw, 185p
11 boyz: trukk, 101p
13 gretchin + runtherd, 46p
3 warbuggies, 90p
4 warbikes, 100p
Deff dread, big shoota, rokkit launca, 90p
3 killa kans: 1 big shoota, 1 rokkit launcha, 1 grotzooka, 135p
Tot: 1500p
I'm considering dumping the meganobz for upgrades like nobz for da boyz and more boyz fore the large foot units. I would also like some extra gretchins and a nob for the bikers. Are there any other changes that should be made for a 1500p horde?
Any tip or comment would be appreciated!
NOTE: I'm not a tournament player and build my armies on a "spirit of the game" more than sly tactics. Also, all models are OLD (90's; will portrate them in a gallery eventually). This does not however meen that I'm not interested in winning the battles, so any thoughts would come in handy before we head out into a bigger brawl.
Best regards,
Warlord Ozkhaar

Hahaha yeah it probably would suck against a competative player. We usually dont think to much about the tactics in the list but make our armies from an estethical point of view. The fun of it, for me anyway, is a nice looking battle field and the spirit of the game. Winning is important, but that's just when the dice starts rollin'.
The 1000p army is quite flexible against several opponents actually, so it performs better than it looks. Even the grots have played a crucial part in taking objectives, in a few cases their job have won the game.
