I'm gradually building up my marines and just thought I'd post my list to see if there are any glaring improvements to be made.
Since this is my first army I prefer a balanced list so I can happily take on any race and stand a chance.

Dread w/MM
Dread w/AC/HF
10 Tacticals w/MG/ML in rhino
10 Tacticals w/FL/ML in razorback
5 Assault marines w/PF

So if anyone has any suggestions to sub units out, I 'm totally willing to hear them. As the list stands I have 10 points to spare and could use some advice on how best to spend them...Melta-bombs for the tac sarges? Flamer for the Assault squad? another razorback?

Anyways any help/comments are appreiciated..

Looks pretty good for casual gaming.
I would want a fist on the sarge of whatever tac squad gets to bring cassius along. (I recommend the flamer half of that Tac squad combat squaded in the rhino) Having both a chaplain and a PF makes marines much more likely to win, and survive in melee.

I would use more troops if you wanted to step up a notch, but for 'casual' your list is pretty cool.

For casual play it's fine. Upgrade the rhino to a razorback maybe. Do combat squads with the ML sitting back and the special weapon going up to attack.

Yea I was thinking about this and I figure I have two options with the current list:

1. Remove the PF from the Assault squad and give them a flamer , give the Tac sarge a PF
or
2.Put the Assault squad into a rhino and have Cassius roll with them. Then use the 10 points to upgrade a rhino to a razorback and then maybe some MB's on a sarge.

I think I prefer the 2nd option. Allthough I like the idea of fast moving infantry who can deepstrike and mess up my opponents plan, they seem particulary vunerable. But if they are in a rhino the gain the some added protection, can still move the same distance and they can have Cassius attached.

I guess a 3rd option is keep the list as is?
What do you fine people think?

I would replace Cassius with jumppack chaplain and give assault squad a flamer. This leaves you with 20 pts to spend.

In assault squad i would switch power fist for pair of lighting claws and for next 15 pts i would buy power weapon for flamer combat squad.

Maybe drop razorback for second rhino because if you are going to transport something you will move 12" all the time. For those i would give combi melta to melta combat squad.

I'm gonna pass on replacing cassius for now, it is possible since I made his gun arm switchable, but I like his rules and the model I made too much..

So heres the list I will go for unless anyone is willing to convince me otherwise..

Looks solid. I’m not much of a fan of assault marines, so if it were me I’d probably replace them with a squadron of two speeders. 5 in a Rhino with Cassius isn’t too bad, though, so go with whichever floats your boat.

They cannot assault from rhino. They are useless. Thats why i considered jump chaplain.

Yes I understand that, I'm also considering adding a flamer to the Rhino assault squad so they can drive by flame stuff... But tbh I am not that bothered about them not being able to assault straight out of the rhino, they are more for counter assaults I guess. I'll see how they play out anyways and despite them probably not being ''optimal'' they are far from ''useless''

If you ever plan on moving forward and assaulting you will be killed during that turn you will stand there.

Add flamer that is very good.

Move the vehicle into position. Then next turn come out and assault. Only problem is that they don't always sit there and wait for you to hit them.
