Hi, I'm thinking of trying out a WoC Nurgle themed army, I've used Tzeentch previously with varying degrees of success but find Nurgle to be more characterful so I want to try it out, well, here goes.

Man, that's a small army, innit? Lots of cool stuff going on though, and it certainly is nurgle-y!

My suggestions:
> puppet will help your boys out, and mess with the other dude, a lot more than the black tongue will (-15 pts)
> both warrior units need full command: they need that CR pip (and can easily protect it), and not taking a musician, particularly on a unit that can flee, is a mistake (+36 pts)
> horsemen, with their existence based around baiting and dicey combats, need musicians as well (+6 pts)
> knight champs offer very little return for their points, which are needed elsewhere (-20 pts)

Buffing up commands and swapping in the puppet works out points-wise (1 pt left), and adds another bit of functionality to the list. My next level of suggestions are less pressing but might help:
> even 1 unit of dogs for being thrown under things, baiting, etc
> a combat weapon for the horsemen, who with 6 models would bring some pain when equipped with flails (with light armor not shields) or even spears; you've already invested in them, and with such a small army having another unit that can fight when needed can't hurt
> points for the above can come from the lord's gifts and/or weapon, which while fluffy and cool may not be as useful in game as the above
> the horsemen chieftain is another quick 12 pts if you need it, and could convert quickly into 6 flails for the unit

Which in list form might look like this:

L: Sorcerer Lord - MoN, level 4, glaive of putrefaction, armor of damnation, power familiar, stream of corruption, daemonic mount = 455
H: Sorcerer - MoN, level 2, scroll, roar = 185
H: Sorcerer - MoN, level 2, puppet = 175

C: 20 Warriors - MoN, full command, shields = 380
C: 15 Warriors - MoN, full command, shields = 300
C: 6 Horsemen - MoN, musician, t.axes, shields = 132
C: 5 Warhounds = 30

S: 6 Knights - MoN, festering shroud, standard, musician = 325

R: Giant - MoN = 265
-------
2247

I ended up not going with a combat weapon on the horsemen, as I figure maybe you like the look of shields + axes over spears / flails stuck on too. Still think they could use it, but meh. Should be a way fun army to model whatever nurgle-filled list you take

I'll second the Boss's advice, altough I'd like to add that you should definetly mount up the lesser wizards on barded steeds as the extra mobility and more importantly the +2 to save really helps. Also a decent magic banner to either or both of the warrior units would probably help. Warbanner would offer needed extra cr, banner of rage on the other hand ItP and extra hitting power, altough the frenzy makes the unit unreliable in some cases. With all that elite infantry, a bsb would be good addition, but that's 150pts+ investment so...

I too felt the need for magic banners on those warriors, even as simple as the rapturous standard to lockdown your big 20 block if it takes a rather unpleasant charge from something(s). It's really an amazing deal for 20 pts, to the point that I'd say trading stream of corruption for it would probably be a great idea ... The increased insane courage will also help them as MoN does nothing for psych issues
