So I'm new to the game and I'm trying to figure out does a twin linked weapon count as one or 2 weapons when put towards the 3 weapon systems that a tau crisis suit can use.

Here is the unit idea i was thinking:
Battle-suit with
Twin linked burst cannon
Multi tracker
Air bursting fragmentation projector

A twin linked weapon is within the context of the rules treated as a single weapon system, whether this be for crisis suits or vehicles.

i'd say there are a few exceptions such as with Eldar Wraithlords who can have 2 different weapons or can purchase the same one twice to have one twin-linked version (still technically two weapons, but can only fire once counting as twin linked)

You love it you slags!

I don't have my codex with me but i am almost 100% certain that for tau battle suits if you select the same weapon for your system then it counts as twin linked, but takes up two slots.

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie.

A twin linked weapon counts as 2 weapons for the purposes of Battlesuit Systems.

LOL at the ambiguity of my own answer due to my lack of properly reading the question, indeed it takes up two hard points but counts as one weapon when it is fired.

Just a note:

Multi-tracker would have to be Hard wired, as you only have 3 'Hard points' as a previous post mentioned.

(Twin BC=2 , Frag proj=1)

Makes little difference, but it should be listed as "Hard Wired" to be strictly legal.
