I made up a little, wargame/RPG when I was little, which lead me to be exposed to 40k. This seems alot like it.

So? Make templates.

I did something similar with units like "Lego Hitler" or "Robot Ninjas"

I've sold so many armies. :(

Hahahaha we were talking about something similar to this at a tourney a few weeks ago.

One of the guys in our group was griping about somebody with some tightwad, cheap conversion and he suggested that we should start playing with Lego figures. You would have a LEGO Deathstar (shaped like the SW Deathstar of course) and everytime you lost a mini you would pull a piece off of the deathstar.

For 40k we would use a combination of SW LEGOS and their own spaceship themed stuff.

Or a lego SWAT team vs lego zombies vs lego Srmored ninjas working for the government to kill all people in the zombie-infested ghetto.

It's called Brikwars.

It's a cool system, and it really gets to certain elements of tabletop players.

I've seen an ultramarines lego army vs orks on the tabletop at a karge convention here a couple of years ago.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I don't have enough lego to do it (because 40k is cheaper).

I have made vehicles and stuff from lego though.

Indeed. I gave all mine away to poor kids when I hit highschool and thought I was grown up.

Little did I know, you never grow up.

I played brickwars. It was a fun game, but I found that ranged combat was not as effective as I thought, and if the dice aren't endly, it can take a while for a figure to kill or die. Still it was a good time, and worth playing again. You can't beat being able to dismember minifigs when they get killed by a lightsaber and having lots of 1x1 trans-red plate to spread around when a minifig dies really adds to the perception of brick carnage. Here's some pictures that my friend took of the action. He played the victorious rebels and I the defeated empire.

I didn't do a write-up, but the pictures are chronologicaly ordered, so you can get an idea of what happened. The town buildings are modules from my layout, and the sci-fi buildings are from his Starwars layout.

One thing I would like to try, is Warhammer Historical's Legends of the Old West in LEGO. It's similar to LoTR in rules and looks like alot of fun, and since I already have all the figs, horses and buildings, it wouldn't be hard to do.
