Are there rules for deploying a Deathwing Company? I imagine they'd be found in the DA codex?  [RSS] Share on facebook Share on Twitter Submit to Reddit

Hey guys,

I've been reading about the Deathwing and they seem pretty cool... I assume they don't use the standard force organisation chart? Do they have their own in the DA Codex?

They use the standard FOC, they have a special character that lets you use Terminators for troops.

It's in the Dark Angels codex, and the only thing still worth using from that book. Even then, it's invalidated by Logan Grimnar making Wolf Guard troops, effectively letting you take a much manlier Deathwing army.

What Brother SRM said.

If it has to be Dark Angels, than use the SW 'dex and liberal use of "counts as." I.E. paint them as DA, and only take options that you can make WYSIWYG.

Regular marines don't have Interrogator Chaplains or Ravenwing. 1 DW squad with CF and AC is 250. 1 WG squad with the same gear is 235. DW have fearless and can teleport. Fearless is very good with such small units. Extra wound on the Interrogator Chaplains. Teleporting in with the help of the Ravenwing teleport homers. Difficult but enjoyable to play. A need for anti tank that isn't terminator based. Transports for CC squads. Typical problem of low model count armys in that each loss is difficult to take.

Manlier yes, but deathwing is all about teleport deployment, which space wolves cannot do at all.

The Polito form is dead, insect. Are you afraid? What is it you fear? The end of your trivial existence?

Yeah. They are horrible if you deep strike just one squad. But many squads coming in close divides their fire and allows survival for some. Same rate of drop as drop pods, but no extra points.
