After reading some IG threads in this forum i see people placing Inquisition units inside their Imperial Guard Army Lists (people bringing Grey Knights in FA slots or Using Inquisitor Lords with psychic hoods in HQ slots). I was not aware that the IG could take these Imperial units. I know the Inquisition can conscript any IG forces deemed necessary to end the threat and this is reflected in the DH Codex and in DH army lists (limitations within this are stated clearly, most notibly not having SM and GK together in the same list). Where in the IG Codex is this rule stated? Are these Hybrid IG lists "legal" and then what is stopping people from bringing an IG army that is primarily Inquisition.....seems like you could bring an Imperium All-Star squad....

It is stated in the Daemonhunter Codex that you can ally in 1 HQ, 1 Elite, 2 Troops, 1 Fast into IG, SM, or WH lists.

To elaborate further, both the Witch Hunters and Demonhunters codexes have rules that allow you to include IG and SM in WH and DH armies. I believe the rules are listed in the "By the authority of the Immortal Emperor of Mankind" section.

Separately there are also rules in both codexes that allow you to take WH and DH units in Imperial Guard and Space Marine armies. I believe these rules are listed int he "Using Witch/Demon Hunters as Allies" section.

These examples are from the DH/WH codexes....not the IG Codex. How does an IG player who doesnt have a DH/WH codex know that the option exists? This descrepency is what makes me uncomfortable with this ability. Only Forum savvy players or Codex collectors will know of this ability.

Ha..it does suck to be them....Fortunately i have access to those codexes...

But note they can only use generic profile daemons. They may not use the rules from the Daemons Codex.

Errm... No, it isn't? CSM cannot take CD units, in any way shape or form. They can use the Two Daemons listed in their codex, nothing more.
