Local tourny, 3 games, 1500 points. Primary and secondary objectives, there were points for painting, and there was sportsmanship scores. The secondary objectives were semi-based on the new nids release, and each game had special rules which made the games fun and interesting.
Heres my list:
Avatar
Eldrad
5 Fire dragons
Wave serpent: shuriken cannon, stones
5 Fire dragons
Wave serpent: shuriken cannon, stones
5 Dire avengers
Wave serpent: scatter laser, shuriken cannon
10 Guardians: scatter laser
5 Dire avengers
Wraithlord: scatter laser, shuriken cannon
Wraithlord: scatter laser, shuriken cannon
Falcon: scatter laser, holo-fields, spirit stones
1500 on the dot
Game 1:
Dawn of war, seize ground
Secondary: any infantry unit with 5 or more models in a table quarter gains 1 point per unit.
Special rules: Any unit except for walkers, when running on a roll of 6 lose a model (or take a wound).
Space wolves
Rune priest
3 Termies with lightning claws
Land raider
3x10 Long fangs in rhinos
2 vindicators
Deployment: We rolled for 4 objectives. I lost the roll off, went second. I deployed only the avatar just so I could get that extra 6" boost. He deployed nothing. He brought everything on turn 1.
Wolves 1:
He brought the 3 rhinos with long fangs and land raider with 3 terminators and rune priest in moving 12". The 2 vindicators move 6" behind them. Nothing to shoot at because of night fighting.
Eldar 1:
I move my dragons 12" infront of his raider, and on the other side of the building 12" as well. I bring my falcon and
DA serpent in 6", and bring Eldrad with wraithlords in behind the avatar. Guardians go way off to the right near the objective. I run eldrad and run 6" and fail my save (
lol) so he takes a wound (because of special rules). I run both wraithlords and run again 6 on BOTH, and suffer another wound on one (
lol again, killing myself). Avatar runs, but not far. Guardians run a full 1". I try to shoot but blind in the night.
Wolves 2:
He moves his 2 rhinos forward 6", leaves his
LR where it is. He moves the vindicator off to the right. And moves one rhino 12" off to the right. He casts his psychic power to give his tanks a 5+ save. Shooting does nothing to my army, his vindicator scatters wildely.
Eldar 2:
I move both dragons forward 12" and spin them and unload both squads. Avatar, eldrad and 2 wraithlords continue to march forward. Falcon and
DA serpent chill at the back. and guardians move through cover onto the far right objective. I wreck the
LR with the dragons, and I explode the vindicator with my other squad (cant really see it because its behind the building). I lose 1 dragon in the explosion. He unloads his 3 termies and rune priest. I unload tons of S6 shooting into them and the dice gods were definatly against him as he rolled 3 1's (killed all his termies, ouch, I felt really bad). Only the rune priest is left now. Either I immobilised or he immobilised himself on difficult terrain, but the far right rhino is immobilised.
Wolves 3:
He unloads all 3 squads of long fangs. The vindicator moves a little off to the left. He kills both squads of fire dragons, except one (who passes his leadership). His long fangs on the right multi assault the tank and the firedragons exploding the tank and kill the fire dragons. The tank explosion kills 3 marines. He tries to shoot up the avatar but cant hurt it.
Eldar 3:
Now that eldrad is in range of the rune priest he begins to shut down my powers, and shuts down 1 fortune and 1 doom. I assault my lone fire dragon into the vindicator after trying to shoot it. I shoot up his far right long fang squad and take a few out. My fire dragon serpent that survived moves flat out and gets out of assault range. In assault my fire dragon blows of the vindicator cannon. I wrecked his rhino on the right of the land raider by some S6 shooting. I assault eldrad and the avatar into his longfangs and wipe his squad.
Wolves 4:
He brings his long fangs around his rhino with the rune priest, shooting has him killing eldrad (no fortune because he nullified it, and I took a wound on the run

). He assaults my avatar with the rune priest and long fangs. I kill 2 long fangs and he doesnt wound the avatar. He passes morale.
Eldar 4:
I move my falcon off to the right to start thinking about the table quarter secondary. I pour most of my shooting into his long fangs on the objective and leave him with 2 models left. I assault my one wraithlord into the combat to help out. I kill a few more long fangs in combat, but again he sticks around.
Wolves 5:
He tries to ram my wave serpent at the bottom left with his empty rhino and I pass my avoid roll so nothing happens. He doesnt have any other shooting, so we move onto combat. In combat He loses more long fangs.
Eldar 5:
I blow up his rhino that tried to ram me by the wave serpent he tried to ram. I kill off the rest of his squad sitting on the objective in the building. In combat I leave him with only a rune priest and the power fist long fang.
Wolves 6:
He has nothing left, so we go right to combat. In combat I kill his power fist with the avatar, but forgot his rune priest has a force weapon and wounds demons on 2+ so his rune priest wounds my avatar, I fail my save and he passes his psychic test and poof I suffer instant death (nooooooo). But in revenge my wraithlord insta deaths the rune priest as he failed a save.
Eldar 6:
Nothing left to do, he has only his vindicator left, and I control enough table quarters for the secondary and primaries, and score a massacre.
Win Eldar
Game 2:
Pitched battle, capture and control
Secondary: Every unit except transports in your opponents deployment zone gain 1 point, if you are outside your opponents zone and your own zone at the end of the game you lose 1 point (basically middle of the table)
Special rules: All infantry units move as if in difficult terrain (does not affect assaults)
Tyranids
Flyrant
Hive tyrant with lash and some other things
3 hive guard
2x16 hormogaunts with poison weapons
14 termagaunts
14 gargoyles
Trygon prime
Trygon
I win the roll and decide to go second. He reserves gargoyles, and both trygons. I reserve guardians and dire avengers serpent.
Tyranids 1:
Because of the special rule everything he has that isnt a
MC has to walk as if its difficult terrain. He runs everything forwards, except he elaves both tryants back a bit. No shooting for turn 1.
Eldar 1:
I run eldrad and avatar forward. I unlaod all my shooting on the hormogaunts not in cover and kill 12 I think, but they're fearless thanks to synapse.
Nids 2:
Gets all 3 reserves in. and tunnels both trygons beside eldrad and avatar. and deepstrikes with little variation on the gargoyles. Most of shooting focuses on eldrad and puts 2 wounds on him. He assaults my wraithlord with his hormogaunts and because of posion attacks he wounds on 4+ and puts a TON of wounds on me, I take 2 wounds in combat and only kill a few off. We draw combat and stick around.
Eldar 2:
I get my guardians in, and move them off to the right. I unload one dragon squad near one trygon, and the other near the other one. I flop BOTH attacks and miss 4/5 attacks on both squads and put only 1 wound on each trygon from both fire dragons (sweet.......). I shoot the prime and put another wound on him from some S6 shooting. I flame his termagaunts with my wraithlord. I assault his flyrant and put a wound on him. Wraithlord combat doesnt go anywhere, still only have 1 wound left on my lord.
Nids 3:
Trygons assault both dragon squads and easily kill both off. His termagunats move backwards closer to his objective. His gargoyles and hive guard shooting kill eldrad (awww). His lash tyrant assaults in against the avatar. His hormogaunts easily kill off my wraithlord with their poisoned weapons. Both tyrants cause 2 wounds on my avatar, and I put another wound on the flyrant.
Eldar 3:
I move both empty fire dragon serpents as far away as possible to save for contesting later. I should have moved my falcon further, but I didnt (this will cost me). I move my wraithlord up and flame his gargoyles and kill 8 gargoyles from flamers. between the rest of my armies shooting I put 1 more wound on each trygon, and kill off some hormogaunts and more gargoyles. In assault I kill his hive tyrant.
Nids 4:
He moves his gargoyles, termagaunts, and hive guards all around the avatar. His trygon moves near the falcon. His hormogaunts move in on the wraithlord. The remaining hormogaunts assault the wraithlord and cause 2 wounds. His trygon assaults my falcon and wrecks it. Everything else assaults into my avatar and easily kills him off. His other trygon assaults my guardians and kills 6, I get away but will never regroup.
Eldar 4:
At this point I can really only hope for a draw, and realize that so I move my tanks as far away as possible in an effort to contest for turn 5. Very little shooting on my part since I move most things flatout.
Nids 5:
Hormogaunts move in on my home objective. His flyrants moves in on my far right empty serpent and wrecks it. Hive guard start moving in towards my end zone. His one trygon assaults my 5 remaining dire avengers sitting behind the wrecked falcon and easily kills them.
Eldar 5:
I fly my
DA serpent to contest the nids home objective. and I flatout my empty serpent but fall a couple inches short of contesting my home objective.
Nids 6:
He wrecks my
DA serpent on his home objective with some hive guard shooting. both trygons assault the wave serpent on my home objective but he cant wreck it.
Eldar 6:
I move my
DA that got out of the wrecked serpent onto his home objective. I move my tank on my home objective to fully contest it. If the game ends now its a draw.....
Nids 7:
Doesnt end, and he kills my 5
DA on the objective, and wrecks my wave serpent on my home objective.
Loss, came right down to the end really. Had it stopped on 6, it would have been a draw. This was an incredibly hard list to face and Im surprised it went as well as it did (aside from being table on turn 7, he didnt have much left either though). Anyways, flopping 8/10 fire dragon shots really hurt me as it allowed his trygons to go basically unhurt.
Game 3:
Spearhead, annihilation
Secondary: At the end of the game any unit within 18" of the center gain 1 point
Special rules: Select an
HQ choice to be the leader, all units within 18" of that
HQ gain +1 leadership, any unit OUTSIDE that range lose 1 leadership point
Dark Angels
Belial
Chaplain
5 Termies with lightning claws, autocannon
5 Termies with lightning claws, autocannon
5 marines
5 marines
5 assault marines
drop pod with drednaught and multimelta
whirlwind
He wins the roll and goes first. Deploys everything on the table (wierd, he should deepstruck his termies) except his drop poding dreadnaught. I also deploy everything except my guardians, since its kill points and I dont need them aimlessly dieing. I steal the initative !!
Eldar 1:
Avatar, eldrad and both wraithlords move through that center piece of terrain. I move both dragons 12" up the center, not sure what I want to do wit them yet, he has 10 termies and a whirlwind, and dreadnaught, so I have to decide what i want to waste. My falcon chills at the back on a hill, with my
DA serpent near the right side as well. I shoot his assault marines and kill 2.
DA 1:
He moves his termies with chaplain forward, his assault marines jump forward, his marines jump off the building and move towards me. His drop pod comes down right behind my
DA serpent. His whirlwind and other termies are behind the building out of sight from picture. His dreadnaught shoots the rear armor of my
DA serpent and luckily for me only blows off its weapon. His assault marines assault my fire dragon tank but fail to do any damage.
Eldar 2:
My guardians come in, and I put them at the bottom left out of the way from anything really. I zoom my weaponless
DA serpent away from the dreadnaught. I move my falcon 6" away, but should have gone a bit more

. Avatar, eldrad and both wraithlords move through cover, with the avatar making it out. One fire dragon squad gets out and unloads on the termies and burns 3. My other fire dragons move closer to the hidden whirlwind. I blow the multimelta off the dreadnaught. Avatar assaults the termies and kills 1. He doesnt wound me. I kill off his remaining 3 asault marines by massive S6 shooting.
DA 2:
He moves his termies with belial closer to my end zone, eyeing the guardians. His marines shoot and assault my dragons killing all of them but fail to do any damage to my tank again. His dreadnaught assaults my falcon immbolizing it and stunning it. In assault my avatar kills the remaining terminator, leaving only the chaplain.
Eldar 3:
I move the empty fire dragon serpent back. My wraithlord shoots at his marines and kills off a bunch. I manage to completley whipe one 5 man squad. I unload my fire dragons and manage to blow off the whirlwind cannon and immobilize it. My one wraithlord assaults the 5 generic marines and kills off 4, he fails his morale and gets away and runs towards his table edge. In combat my avatar kills off his chaplain.
DA 3:
He moves belial and termies closer to the avatar as its a major threat. His lone marine keeps falling back because im within 6" of him. He puts a wound on eldrad through minor shooting. In combat his dreadnaught blow both weapons off the falcon.
Eldar 4:
I shoot my fire dragons at the whirlwind again and manage to get 2 more weapon destroyed, which ontop of the already blown off cannon and immbolized result causes it to be a wreck. I move avatar and eldrad with wraithlords towards the termies. Shooting has me blow up the dreadnaught as I was shooting at his rear armor. In shooting I put a wound on belial (bad wound allocation).
DA 4:
He moves his termies and belial closer to avatar. His lone marine keeps falling back. He assaults my avatar and loses a terminator and causes no wounds to me.
Eldar 5:
I start moving everything towards the center for secondary objective. I load my dragons back up and move them closer to the center as well. In assault I charge in eldarad and a wraithlord and kill off a few more termies.
DA 5:
His lone marine regroups becuase im no longer 6" away from him. He has nothing else left, so right to assault. In assault I kill the remaining termies and belial.
Eldar 6:
He wanted to keep playing, so we did, and in turn 6 I kill off his lone marine, essentially tabling him aside from his drop pod
Massacre Eldar
Overall results:
I went 2 massacre wins, and 1 massacre loss. I think I place 4th out of 14....but they never officially announced the positions, but based on my wins/loss record and those around me I think thats how I placed. 2 People went without losses, and the person who won had 2 massacre wins and a massacre loss but his army was basically the only FULLY painted army there and got a ton of extra points for that which ended up making him win the entire tourny (hey had my army been fully painted I had the same record as him......hmmm I
might have been able to win then.....
lol).
Anyways, this isnt really a competitive army, I play this list for fun, and I had fun playing it. I thought it held up well to the armies I played. The tyranids was definatly hard to play and my list 100% could not handle that army, I dont have any flamers asdide from the wraithlords and I really need some mass shooting that I just couldnt do. He tied me up in combat early on which hurt the shooting I did have, and poisoned hormogaunts really hurt me in combat since normally they wouldnt be able to touch my wraithlords.
