Im well aware that you are not allowed to shoot into a close combat, as i read it somewhere in the rulebook, but what about blast markers?

I know you just place the marker down on the board, as opposed to normal shooting, so say if a squad of nids is ravaging one of my tactical squads, can i place blastmarkers over them, even if maybe one of my marines is under some of it?

I just got the idea from readin a book where some Royal Marines called in an artillery strike on their own position as it was being overrun and they had trenches to take cover in!

So, being as my guys have a 3+ cover save, and the AP from a thunderfire cannon blast is 4, i was just wondering, might it be a good idea in some rare situations, and if so, is it a legal move?

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

? 1 this is warhammer fantasy

2. 40k and Fantasy forbid shooting into combat, so you are not allowed to target a unit that has models in combat which suggests that your first example is illegal.

3. In real life there are things like danger close, creeping barrage and desperation that aren't shown in 40k rules. If you are bringing something up in YMDC, I would suggest avoiding 'fluff' reasons as they are ignored in YMDC

Pretty sure the answer is NO in both 40k and fantasy, with the exception of skaven slaves. However if the template scatters onto your own troops, in either system, then the models hit by it are actually hit, even if that means your own troops or a combat. IIRC.

Both Template and Blast weapons have rules specifically stating that they can't be placed over your own troops.

This is 40k, and no. Now if there was another unit of Tyranids not engaged but close to the combat then it could scatter over and cause wounds.

"Nuts!"
