where ever the army sends me

Hey guys I play nurgle demons and want to give CSM a whirl so heres the list please help

175 daemon prince w/MoN, warptime, wings
180 Chaos lord w/terminator armor, daemon weapon, MoN, combi-flamer
251 7 plague marines w/2 melta guns champion w/powerweapon personal icon in Rhino
251 7 plague marines w/2 melta guns champion w/powerweapon personal icon in Rhino
256 7 plague marines w/2 plasma guns, champion w/powerweapon in rhino
110 Dreadnought w/Plasma cannon, heavy flamer
265 7 Terminators w/heavy flamer, 2 combi-meltas, MoN
260 5 Bikers w/MoN, 2 Melta guns, champion w/powerweapon, meltabombs
125 Vindicator
125 Vindicator

ok so the idea is that the plamsa plague marine squad would sit on my home objective should there be one while the other two squads move foward to seize the other supported by the vindicators. The bikers would turbo boost towards the enemy to pose lethal 2nd turn killiness counting on their 3+ invunerable save with toughness 5 to survive the first turn of enemy shooting. the termies would pop out by any of the icons likely by the bikes that are hopefully in the heart of the enemy. the dreadnough would either babysit the home obhjective while shooting any targets of opprutunity or move foward depending on the scenario. the Demon prince would move alongside the rhinos to lend his strength to the assualt wave. this all keeping in mind that no plan survives first contact with the enemy. Any ideas please help. P.s. I am converting the vindicators to resemble a cross between a vindicator and a plaguereaper for fluff reasons.

Its good list for the most part.

Your lord is too expensive and his function would probably be seved better by a sorcerer with wind of chaos or a second DP.

Your PM champions should have powerfists rather than power weapons. PWs at I3 isnt too good, but the fists strike at I1 anyway and will do more damage.

You cant ever trust CSM dreads to do anything you want them to. If you want them to sit on an objective they will shoot you in the back 1/6th of the time and run forward off the objective the other 1/6th of the time. Its better just to get rid of it.

Your terminators could do with a chainfist or two in case they have to deal with vehicles and MCs. Against walkers and wraithlords particularly they will get tarpitted and slowly ground to death. Chainfists solve these problems.

They bikes are SO expensive for the little they do. Ok T6 is good, but they will still die to plasma weapons, battlecannon and powerfists just as easily. For all those points you get 5 marines with two melta guns? Not worth it at all. If you want some fast elements get some raptors instead. CSM bikes cost the earth and have very little to show for it.

The vindicators need to have demonic possession. It means that they can always move and fire and the reduced BS doesnt matter as much for blast weapons. Trust me it is worth it.

Polonius wrote:Well, seeing as I literally will die if I ever lose a game of 40k, I find your approach almost heretical. If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Nice start, but i would make a few changes.

Chaos lord - unless you are going for fluffy instead of really competitive, drop him. Add a sorcerer with MoN and warp time on a bike and add a biker for a fluffy and effective 7.

Drop the dread, they just aren't that good for us. :(
Get powerfists on the champs.

Drop the champ and add a vanilla plague marine to the plasma squad and add a havoc launcher to the rhino. If you are going to sit and shot, then sit and shoot more.

I would personally drop the terminators and icons for a flamer squad of plague marines with a pf champ in a rhino, but if your terminators are living long enough to do something, then by all means go with them. They have been less than stellar for me unless they are charging out of a land raider.

Rotting Sorcerer of Nurgle

DP is good.
Lord:is ok ish, I think that's just too expensive on a Chaos IC.

Plague marines look ok, as suggested by others, fists on them or don't bother with power weapons.

Dreadnought is decent, though I do prefer MLs or a second DCCW.

Termies are a fluffy number, but a points sink, not even one chainfist? ICON of Nurgle it is, but I think their delivery (deepstriking?) is not so good, esp. with a large squad, personal icons are not always were you need them.

Bikers: again, they purchase Icons, and while T6 looks cool, I don't feel it's enough bikers to really enjoy that durability.
Fist or bust IMO on the bikers.

Though you do have a lack of any 'proper' flamers.

Vindis are cool, but I suggest possession on them just so that they are not Spiky (overcosted by comparison) SMurf Vindis

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
