So I have a question for all those IG players out there...how do you get shot guns on your vets? I know there's a tutorial on this website, but do you have other means? Like purchasing the upgrade pack from forgeworld, or something like that?

Oh? Does that work well? They aren't oddly proportioned are they? I mean with the scouts being Space Marines and Space Marines supposedly being a few feet taller....wait does height even scale in 40k?

A straight up arm swap bitsmash can look a little wierd but they seem to be a good source of shotguns for converting the lasguns out.

I see IGs carrying lascannons that weigh twice their size all the time, so I say just go with the scout shotguns. If you want, you could convert them a bit to look more guardsy.

At this time, I'm using the Scout shotgun right arm in it's entirety. I just shave down the shoulder pad a bit with a knife and file until it's the size of the Guard pad. Then a bit of fiddling and some greenstuff and you can make a standard guardsman Lasgun arm (without hand) line up with the left hand molded onto the shot gun.

The scout hands (both moded on the gun) have a wristband with a skull on the right wrist, but I like the way it looks and will be leaving it as-is.

Scale isn't an issue, as Gaurdsmen in 40k are presently about the same size as space marines.

simple way it cut of the barrel of the lasgun and cut off the stock...and it looks like a shotgun..I also added heavy bolter ammo onto the sides of it, to look like shotgun shells.

I used old necromunda bits that I got from bitz ordering, back when you could still do that. Check out Maxmini's online store, they sell some pretty cool conversion bits that scale up with IG cadiens fine, they have a set of shotguns, plus several other weapon packs you can buy. If none of these is a good option for you, you can try modifieing the regular lasguns, they can be hacked up different ways, you might get some thin plastic rod from your local Hobbytown or other supplier, and make new gun barrels or spare shells from that.

I get my shotguns on eBay. Combine with some ork belt ammo (file the tips off) and you've got some extra shells you can affix to your shotty.
