Looking at getting me one of these big guys as a present to myself for being so awesome the past few months and finally getting things sorted.
However, not being terribly experienced in the use of Resin, I'm looking for a little advice about this kit. From what I remember, the Lash Whips for the kit are supplied straight, and you need to put them in warm water to bend them into more organic shapes. This I should be okay with, but it's the rest of the kit I'm worrying about. For example, are the legs brittle? It's likely to see a fair amount of action in large multiplayer games, and if the Legs need serious care when it's in use, I think I'll skip. Likewise, how tricky was/is it to get all four claws properly on the ground to make it stable?
These are my immediate concerns, and what I'm really looking to be advised upon, but if I have missed anything, or there is something else about the kit I should consider, please include!

Here's what I did with my Hierodule: http://kan.org/michael/mkp/tyranid_hierodule.php
Overall, my first experience with Forgeworld resin was pretty good. It was more flexible that I expected and pinning the load bearing legs was pretty easy.
If I had to do it again, I'd use a clear plastic rod as a 3rd leg to support some of the chest weight, not that I think it needs, it but more for additional stability 'just in case'

You should go take a look at "The Tyranid Hive" site. They used to have a few posts/logs there about building a heirophant. One of the main problems was with the legs not being strong enough to hold the body, so that the legs would bend. I think they used to cut the legs in half and strengthen with brass rod. Not for the faint of heart!

It's a daunting kit for sure but well worth it in the end.
Just take your time, lay everything out properly and don't get scared cutting into the £££ of resin.
This was my bible when I assembled mine a few weeks ago!
http://www.thepainteddragon.co.uk/main/?p=383
I left out the lashwhips as they are just too flimsy. I had considered attaching the ends to brass rod and GSing around them.
I didn't cut/reinforce the legs as in the guide but pinned them securely to a solid 14" base.
If you have any questions feel free to disscuss here or PM me if you get into trouble.
Hope this helps.
P.S Enjoy pinning the spikes!

Lovely! Cheers guys.
Slightly less daunted by the beasty now, but I think I might just go for the one, rather than the three I had been contemplating....
Oh, and I think I'll tell the individual spikes to stuff off.

Yeah the tyranid hive site has some good stuff for your biotitan and just bugs in general. The lash whips i got were already curved and yes the legs are not a very good design to hold up that monster. I have mine built and plan on using some of GWs ruined building to use as a stand. So in the end it will look as if he is stepping over a ruined building while a bunch of marines are battling a ton of rippers. I have about 100 or so rippers and want to get about a 100 more and literally have a wave of them eating the marines

Here's a step by step video. I don't know if it's OK to cross post to another board's videos, so just go to You Tube and search with the term: "Nid Week - Build: Heirophant Bio Titan"
