Starting a Witch Hunters army for 2010. Working on 2 lists, this is my "pure SoB" list for when I want to give my Inquisitor a break. This is intended to be fluffy and fun to play. I do not play in tournaments. I think this list would be a blast to play with the 12 Faith Points! Would like some outside opinions to see what people thing. Constructive Criticism is welcome.

Total = 2000

Canoness and Celestine will be for Assault. Squads will hold, capture objective, while Seraphins pop tanks and assault. Retributor is ranged anti-horde (15 Heavy bolter shots) and low save targets to make then roll alot of saves (termi's). Exorcist will hang back a lob shots in. Extra armor is there so allow it to run just in case. Dominion squad is a light anti-horde/speed bump. Throw them in the way or enemy assauly unit, to tie them up and then blast or charge in with my good assault units.

So what do people think?

This is actually a pretty good competitive list minus the power swords on every squad but for fluff I'd keep em in. I would give every Veteran a book of st lucius for 5 points it gives them something equal to the stubborn USR (doing morale checks ignoring modifiers). Since you're only running one exorcist, I'd give your Dominion squad a multi melta on their immolator. Take the extra armor off the exorcist, it's not needed. You only ever want to move 6, if you need to move at all, and if someone stuns you, you can't fire anyway, so it doesn't matter if you move or not. Just keep it in cover, it's hard to kill AV 13 in cover.

Ya, I included the power weapons mainly for fluff, and because I liked the models of the power sword/mace with bolter.

I had completely missed the value of the Book of St Lucius. Definitely going to find a way to include them. Extra Armor dropped to give my Canoness one.

I wanted a MM somewhere, but I just really like the fluff of the Holy Promethium. White hot purification. What about dropping the Canoness' Retuine to 5, and giving them a MM Immolter? That would also give the points for the St Lucius in all the squads.

Take Books of St.Lucius. It is a must.

S3 power weapons is nothing, when without "hand of emperor".

Split the meltabomb flyers into smaller units.

That is not only a good idea but super-fluffy as well. The Canoness has her own personal MM Immolator in that SoB novel. She also has a HK Missile on it but meh. >.>

Please correct me if I am wrong but a storm bolter is a 2-handed weapon. I believe you can only take a single 2handed weapon on a model?

I would drop the dominion Storm Bolters, they are pretty bad and 2x Exorcist are really a must at this point level. They put some pressure on the enemy.

Melta bombs are a waste on the Seraphim, they are already really expensive for a model, put an Eviserator on the Superior instead in my opinion and put an Eviscerator on the Cannonness as well.

I think you need at least one flamer squad as well in your troops, once someone gets out of their transport, you do not have alot of firepower to mow them down.

Edit: Run Seraphim as 7 man squads so they can SotM on command. Otherwise someone is going to drop an AP 3 template on them and they will end up as a 7 or less man squad by the time they are done with them.
