Ok with Ard' Boyz around the corner its time to start refining my list down a bit ... I normally run Vulkan, but I feel there will be alot of Vulkan lists and I also have quite a bit of raven guard so I think I will go this way ... of course let me know where my weakness are.

HQ - Shrike will Infiltrate with TAS-1

HQ - Captain on Bike with Relic blade

HQ - Command squad w/ Drop pod
4x Flamers
1x Apoth.

HQ - Command squad w/ Drop pod
4x Meltaguns
1x Apoth.

Elite- Termi Ass. squad ( TAS-1 )
5x LC 5x TH/SS

Elite- Termi Ass squad ( TAS-2 )
combat squad-1 2xLC 3xTH/SS
combat squad-2 2xLC 3xTH/SS

Troop - Bike Squad-1
combat squad-1 Sarg. w/ Pfist
2x Flamers
2x TL bolter
combat squad-2 3x TL bolter
Attack Bike w/ MM

Troop - Bike Squad-2
combat squad-1 Sarg. w/ bp ccw
2x Flamers
2x TL bolter
combat squad-2 3x TL bolter
Attack Bike w/ MM

Troop - Tac. squad - Drop pod
combat squad-1 Sarg. w/ bp ccw
Flamer
3x bolter
combat squad-2 Multimelta
4x bolter

Fast - Attack bike squad -1
2x Bikes w/ MM

Fast - Attack bike squad -2
2x Bikes w/ MM

- - - 2500 pts - - -

the tactic is as follows...

infilt. shrike w/ termis ... create a termi wall for bikes giving them 1st round cover... Alpha strike command squads to cripple enemy "hammers" meltas will target MC/av13+ flamers for troops... shrike dissconnects and assaults soft units first turn ... while his termis move and fleet to enemy lines and bikes w/ MM stay @ 24" ranges and other bikes and termis advance slowly... end of games turbo boost remaining troop bikes to obj. along with late game tac drop pod

I think I might be in a bad spot if i play swarm orks or swarm nids

Thanks for everyone help ahead of time

You have 3, maybe 4 scoring units, if these get pounded, you will never get anywhere because an ig, csm, or sm player (all of which are very prevelant) will just throw down high strength, low ap blast on you and laugh when you cant get more than a tie.

wait wait wait wait... huh..?

Okay, I don't have the time to say much, but your list needs a lot of little tweaking.

Your command squads really should have some power weapons in them, they're really good combat specialists if you tweak em right.

You should be taking a ratio of about 1 to 3 or 1 to 4 for LC and TH/SS termies respectively.

I also think you need more troops in such a big game.

The main issue I see is if anybody brings an auspex, your going to find your frontal assault looking for cover and or dead. I myself have a 50 man platoon of which has an auspex in it. I dont know about you but attempting to wheather the platoon will cause certain death. Granted you can move fast, I just dont think you can cover that much ground in order to do what you need to do.

I myself will be posting my list as well here in a bit.

Over all I really like the list,,

- This is a BIG concern for me ... I plan on combat squading everything (even in KP) giving me 6 scoring units ... but with combat squading I still run into the fact that I have low wound troops that can be easily killed... but hopefully the drop pod tac squad will land late game and I can possible hold some of the bikes in reserve?

but I dont know where to cut pts to put another troop in ... also this is all my bikes, so I cant do another bike squad also dont have any other drop pods

- The command squads as CC units I have tried and havent had much success ... could be how I played them ... but if I target them properly they should lay enough hurt turn one that they will make their pts up ...

- I 100% agree with the 1 LC to 4 TH/SS .. but I only have 20 termis and they are 9 LC and 11 TH/SS so I cant do much about that.

- This is something I havent faced yet ... remind me again what the auspex does? it messes with deepstriking right??

- The idea with you 50 man blob which I have faced before would be to drop the flamers close to them ( if auspex allows ) and flamer them and have shrike assault first turn

Overall very good imput ... what are some tweeks you would recommend ?

Also what are your thoughts on a ninja style list like ... eldar or pos rely tau... where the whole army is held in reserve

i think you need to grap tac squads in razorbacks (combat squad plas or las) so you have something static and some armour on the table which means that they shoot there las at your vehicles rather than your termies which you want in cc and it would do more than the bike squads

An Auspex allows you to fire at Infiltrators if they are within a certain distance.

I guess my biggest concerns is using flamers in a drop pod attack. Flamers need precision to be used well and 2/3rds of the time you won't be where you wanted, wasting those flamers. The same sort of thing can apply with the meltas, but they're a little better (12 inch range vs 8 inch)

Seem somebody else already nailed it with the auspex and how its work. More less taking 10 auto cannon shoots and at around 35 to 75 shoots depending how deep you get. Though as of yet I have yet to loose the platoon and they have taken T hammers to the face and the likes from all kinds of nasties. Though support really helps when my lines get hit hard.
