This is a combination of two sets of SW i'm getting (friend is selling them to me and the rest are from ebay) I like the idea of starting with few units on the field then having the rest join in immediately afterwards through drop pods throughout the game. soooo here's the list. keep in mind I have actually yet to play a game so I don't know how good this actually is. willing to take all assistance. thanks

So are these supposed to sniper or go melee? Seems to me like you cant make up your mind : d
1 Long Fangs Pack (5) (Squad Leader with Meltabombs, 2 with Heavy Bolter, 2 with Missile Launcher, 1 with Multimelta, Drop Pod) 135
Those Meltabombs on the Leader confuses me, if you really want a melta wep on him why not a meltagun? I have yet to see any long fangs assault a vehicle.
Also mixing up several different weapons work but it isnt always the best idea, if you are going to drop them with the others it might work but if you intend to drop empty pods and start with the long fangs on the table then I suggest changing from the low range multimelta (and possibly heavy bolter depending on what you face) for more cheap and good missile launchers, they always do the trick.
Since you are leaning towards a drop list have you considered taking Logan? Dropping a whole bunch of terminators and other fun stuff right in the face of the enemy is always a blast.
Other then that I cant say much, takes a few games to get the space puppies down but any list running with Arjac Awesomefist is a win in my book so try it out and be sure to let us know how it went ^^

check the wording on the Thunderwolf Cav entry. I'm not looking at my book right now but I'm pretty sure it says one may take the weapon upgrade, not all. All of them can take stormshields though I'm pretty sure. I was bummed to see that too- strength 10 fists or hammers sounded awesome to me when I first heard about them, but it kind of makes sense since they have the rending rule, they are designed to fight with their CCW.

Yeah it is really me making the rookie mistakes immediately with the paper version of the army. I definitely want them to be able to take out enemies from afar.

Thanks I'll be doing that when I get a few of the little extra bits to make the conversions.

I was thinking about running him instead of the runepriest. But I don't have the extra cash currently to get him. I'm on a bit of a budget but I think the runepriest will be ok until I can get him.

Mind if I ask what you thought of my HQ choice with Njal? I really like him and think he has a great amount of tactical advantages to him. I'm having quite a bit of trouble finding the fenrisian wolves though. They aren't on the GW site and I can't find em on ebay either.

I have yet to test Njal myself but he does indeed sound like a good HQ, if you can keep him alive that is ^^ He is abit pricy but then again so is Logan and he dies every game for me so I guess you have to try it out for yourself.
About the wolves there are some players using some old models (I think) that you can get from fantasy or something like that, have a browse on GW and you should find some.

I played Njal last Sunday for the first time. He was easily the show stealer for my wolves. Despite a rookie deployment mistake (we didn't discuss what a terrain piece was adequatly and the demon player's pink horros and changeling were able to unload on him with like 15 shots and a bolt of change- and he made EVERY SINGLE SAVE) Njal proceeded to make back about 3x his points.
After murdering the offending flamers, with some Jaws and Living lightning (2 survived, some Grey hunters were nice enough to finish them off so Njal could focus on big improtant things) Njal proced to occupy a nice tall bunker centerfield and nuke demons left and right. His star powers were of course Jaws and Living Ligntning, but a worthy mention was the Tornado from his special rule. We read the rule that it targets "a model" to mean I could pick which model it hit, and it killed Skulltaker before he could get into CC with me. Very nice.
On the final turn he was charged by a demon prince of nurgle which he proced to put 2 wounds on and take none in return.
Lessons I learned with him: I cannot reasonably expect him to make the volume of saves he did. So I need to deploy a little smarter and protect him from first turn shooting, or put him in a unit. The Rune Priest accompanying my terminators also gets an honerable mention for killing demons, and I'm sure Njal would have done just as well or ven better as he did with some Wolf Guard hanging out with him.
Second lesson, Fire of JAWW first everytime and not Living Lightning. I wound up hitting a unit and putting a wound or two on some multi wound models, and then, unhappy with these results hitting them with JAWW. JAWW wound up killing of models with wounds allocated to them. If it had ben casted first it would ahve killed off healthy units, and then I coudl ahve still blasted them with Lightning or picked a new target.
