They are not a skirmisher and therefore have a 90 degree LOS, which is the default LOS.

Anything not on a 20mm or 25mm base has standard unit facings unless it's unit entry specifies otherwise.

Fast cavalry is an example of an exception. An Empire general on a horse cannot shoot his pistol to his flank or rear.

Fast cav is only an exception for shooting. It still has a flank and facing for charges. i.e. It can still be charged in the flank and needs to see something to its front if it is going to charge.
