The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

This guy checked his email, which included some shots of scantily-clad Miranda Kerr...

Sadly, one of his colleagues was live on TV at the time, and his monitor was in view of the camera... oops...

A short news clip about the guy:

The original oops...

(Don't worry, the actual clips are safe for work, as long as you can get away with watching Youtube normally)

Bearing in mind the fact there was nothing "wrong" about the emails, how much trouble should he get in? Okay, he was using company resources to view them, but he was sent them, he did not go searching for them. Maybe this has uncovered him and others sending such emails regularly though...

Does this really do any meaningful harm to the bank's reputation?

Was he on his break?

So many questions to answer to actually decide whether he really did anything seriously wrong, but he must have peed his pants when he realised he was on TV.

He should get into no trouble. Moral squeamishness is silly. Our Christian heritage should be discarded, and the Western work culture would be better if it forgot its attachment to ethical conduct.

There is no reason to release a person who can do his job.

It was a prank, someone sent it to him in an email with the words "Now turn around" underneath the picture, but hidden behind the monitor in front of him (from the camera's perspective).

Seriously? If it were the US he could be fired immediately. He was likely fired immediately.
That my friend, falls under the dread concept of creating a harmful or hostile work environment. In the US it only takes one time to have an aggrieved party.

I am sure the UK has anti discrimination laws of some sort and may have similar structures.

You're in the US Dogma. Moral queamishness and Christian heritage are irrelevant. Welcome to the EEOC and sexual harassment. Room for one more.

So obviously set up surely? Ive had a TV interview before, you get alot of setting up for them so you get prior knowledge. No doubt a workmate sent him the email with a pair of tits on it, and it said on the email "look behind you" and he promptly did.

I doubt he will get sacked, i think his boss will find it amusing, and a fine effort from the guy who sent him it!

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

Looking at pictures of Miranda Kerr while at work should be mandatory.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Only thing is, he looked at two different pictures, and did not close it immediately...

Still, could he really get fired in the US just for looking at pics like that? We have rules about that sort of thing in the UK, but nowhere near that harsh.

About 10-11 years ago while I was doing a university placement at an engineering company, someone sent me one of those damned auto-looping programs that takes over the whole screen with hardcore porn when you opened it. I naively did exactly that, having never encountered such a thing before. Hardcore porn started looping on my screen... At that point, the MD of the company who had NEVER spoken to me in the 6-7 months I had been working there comes over to me...

Thankfully I started holding down the button to hardboot the computer just in time, and the screen went blank just as he got to where he could have seen it. I think he would have understood I had been pranked, but I wouldn't have liked trying to explain it.

About to eat your Avatar...

He actually looked at 3 pictures, and... appeared to enjoy them enough to stare at each for at least 5-10 seconds.

To be fair, that wasn't even really porn, and I couldn't even make out who the person in the photo was off-hand.

Should he get fired, will he get fired, can he get fired.

Not really, probably, maybe.
