At the end of the day my favorite part is looking at my ranks of little plastic men. I would say besides that getting to travel for tournaments, seeing old friends, and just the excitement of the game have kept me into it for so long.

I voted the top two.

I also like the friendlyness of the game and how you can meet people and talk to similar-minded people why playing the game.

I did used to play it because it was so well balanced and enjoyable when they did away with herohammer.

Unfortunately since VC army book some games are like having your teeth pulled, the lists are so dumb over the top.

Now I play it because 40k is 'THE LAME' and I don't have time to play FOW.

The main reasons I play Warhammer are a) I prefer fantasy to sci-fi or steampunk; b) I prefer regeimental rules to skirmish rules; and c) with Warhammer, opponents are easy to find.

I am a HUGE strategy fan. When I was still in high school and introduced to warhammer, I felt I had finally found the game I had been waiting my entire life for. Finally a game that I can use all of my accumulated tactical knowledge and acumen and have it translate it accurately to the table top. I soon fell in love with the modeling aspect of the hobby as well.

A dozen years and a couple dozen armies later I am still just as in love with the game as ever and have forsaken most other hobbies (video games, card games, model kits) for it.

I'm a fan and player of both, but WHFB is my primary focus/ siphon of money. I enjoy it more so than 40K because the general crowd at my FLGS is a bit older and mature. They're a bit more understanding that, though you want to have everything painted and perfect, time and other commitments prevent that.

I also get a bit giddy every time I finally get the army to the table and I can see the ranks of infantry, the lines of cavalry, the big nasties all lined up, ready to march and whup some ass...it feels good to see the work you've put into it pay off, even if you lose.
