Hey guys I have a question.

Can Burnas Target more than 1 unit while shooting from a transport. For example, say there are 3 squads surrounding my battlewagon that has 15 Burnas in it. Can I assign so many burna templates to each squad? So in my case, I would assign 5 Burna templates to each of the 3 squads. I can see this going both ways. Thanks for clearing this up for me guys.

No you can only shot at 1 target with a squad but the flame template can hit multiple units. So long as you get the most modes possible under the template.

Most models in the targeted unit, not the most models possible from all units................

Let's say you have multiple burnas in the Battlewagon, targetting 1 enemy unit.
-Can the Ork player place the template from anywhere of the hull of the Battlewagon aiming and hitting that unit?
-Must all flamer templates originate from the same spot on the Battlewagon?

IIRC the battle wagon doesnt have any designated fire points, so you can place them from any point on the hull, as long as its open top.

The burnas must all hit as many models in the target unit as possible, so while it *might* be possible to place them at different points, each point would need to hit the same number of models in the target unit.

In other words, ALL the templates have to hit as many models in the first unit as you can make happen. So its not too likely that you will be able to place the templates in too many places.

Why does my eldar army run three fire prisms? Because the rules wont let me use four in (regular 40k).

1) Assuming the BW is still open topped, then yes.
2) Due to the above, and the requirement to hit as many models in the target unit as possible, essentially every template has to come from the same spot, as there will be one spot that covers as many as possible.

The template is measure from the fire points, so in the case of a battlewagon the rear open topped area.

The flamer template must cover the maximum number of units from the unit you are targeting. This would mean that the flamer template is placed in the same location every time and if it isn't it would have to be place in a spot that does the exact same number of hits against the unit you are targeting as the max. If it's in the same place you just do the number of hits that first template get times the number of burna boyz. Yeah, it's as nasty as it sounds.

Bluedagger, no that is entirely incorrect wrt Open Topped vehicles.

With open topped vehicles you measure from ANY point on the hull, ANY POINT. So even the engine block of you want.

If you wish to restrict them to firing just out of the passenger compartment then this is a *house rule*

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

Yep, just line it up once on the target unit and multiply by number of flamers in unit. Tankshocking to line them up to one side makes this even grosser. And it's important, as previously pointed out, that it's the most models in the TARGET UNIT, not all units. So even if you could say, hit 4 models in one unit and 3 in another (7 total), but only up to 5 in the target unit, you have to use the five and hope you find a spot to clip the other unit for bonus hits.
