So today i remade my army list for the new tyranid codex and before i start remodelling any of my beloved creatures, there's couple things i want to ask first.

1. Tyranid warrior with rending claws and toxin sac. Since it would be a same "weapon" with both characteristics, they don't need to choose which ability to use in close combat. Yes or no?
2. New carnifexes can't have Heavy Venom Cannon and Stranglethorn Cannon at same time. Yes or no?

In essence they never "wield", which is equivalent to "use", CCW. Any rules requiring them to use the weapon are overridden.

1. Technically via RaW you can't ever use either as pg.33 defines that Tyranids never use close combat weapons. However RaI is clear that they gain the benefits from simply being equiped with the weapons, which are only ever refered to as CCWs in the heading they are under in the Biomorphs section.

2. No they can't the Codex states you may take one of the following. How can you possibly miss understand that?

Toxin sacs are not a weapon for Tyranids. Regardless of the argument about weapons stacking, you'll be fine with rending claws and toxin sacs.

They can only take one of those options.

Toxin sacs are not a weapon for Tyranids. Regardless of the argument about weapons stacking, you'll be fine with rending claws and toxin sacs.
