So here is the skinney:

I recently started up guard, and after making some pretty Kick butt dune buggies out of land speeders for sentinels, I decided to make some more custom stand ins for various models in the IG army. As of now i plan to make a salamander/chimera that resembles a stryker and one that resembles a Bradly. But, I have one conundrum that I cant just seem to get around. I really like Rough riders but they dont really fit in the 40k setting, now my first inclination was to make bikers, and i might still do that, but is there any other things you have seen, or thought of that could work for Rough riders? Id love to know!

How about these from Urban Mammoth (http://www.urbanmammoth.com/acatalog/)

They used to do quad bikes to which you might be able to find on ebay?

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Also how about:
*Trained attack dogs/creatures ala the bomb dogs from WWII

*Depending on how techie your force is, killer robots. I have visions of Bender with a meat cleaver...

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

I'd argue that Rough Riders fit EXACTLY into the future/archaic 40k setting. The odd ones out are the Cadian range of models, which look far too 'modern infantry' for the 40k setting.

Anyway, the problem with converting horse-rough riders is the lack of decent plastic legs that will match a Cadian body. The best you can do is scout bikers, in which case the easiest 'biker' conversion would probably be scout bikers with Cadian torsos and arms...

Also you have some sort of alien mercenary, even running orks with bombs on sticks.

Guys with jetpacks.

Light Cycles would be easy to make and would look cool but I'm not sure how you would have close combat explained for it...oh, I forgot, the modern version of light cycles have riders on display rather than all covered up...so it could work.

Speeder bikes would also work.

The Pulse rifle is available in packs of 5 from here:

They have all sorts of weapons:

Well worth a look .
