just thought I'd bring up a discussion about the current state of the eldar.

Why are they called dark eldar? surely they are the regular ones?

Does anyone else find it suspicious that the craftworlds are all so similar (in game)?

Which represents the largest population of Eldar: Commoragh? The Exodite Worlds? or the craftworlds?
I have always assumed it was the exodite worlds- if this is the case why is the main codex based on the goody-goody craftworld folk?

thoughts?

Why are they called dark eldar?

Because they are emo, and GW didn't want to call them Chaos Eldar anymore.

surely they are the regular ones?

I am not sure what you mean here, DE are just fallen normal Eldar.

Well they used to be different but GW thought that it was to much work to reprint a 30 page codex...

Their population stays about the same, since they made a deal with slaneesh to stay alive in return for some free souls.

The Exodite Worlds?

Most likely has the highest population since they populate fringe worlds and don't really join all the fighting.

or the craftworlds?
The only argument for this one would be if you counted souls trapped in the infinity matrix as part of the population.

I meant:
aren't the DE the regular eldar at the time of the fall (and the craftworld and exodites the puritanical types who went off to start their own hippy-communes)?

So the next question would be: do all the exodites need to be taken out / stored in the infinity circuit for Ynnead to appear?

I remember being highly disappointed when I bought that codex.
Really there wasn't that much variation- and it was soon dissolved by later releases.

mal, I'm afraid the Dark Eldar history conversation has been done to death a dozen times, and Manchu and I have had out the biological differences between the two at least twice.

I'll tell you this though, the Dark Eldar population appears to be expanding in the webway with the construction of new cities and whatnot. So they're feasibly the largest group of the lot.

Ya, you could call the dark eldar the regular eldar, because the majority of them chose the power of slanesh,
while only the craftworld eldar left.

They did NOT choose the power of Slaanesh, they are terrified of Slaanesh, they went into the webway to run away from Slaanesh and constantly suffer their whole lives from She Who Thirsts gradually leeching out their souls.

Exodites have their own versions of Infinity Circuits on their planets that are called World Spirits.

Playing Space Marine demo while GF was scrapbooking:
Me: I can turn it down, if the screams of dying orks are annoying you.
Her: That's ok, I love hearing the screams of dying orks.

My armies (W-D-L):
2,000 (about 1,200 painted and now I'm feeling the call of Russ) 3-4-3
2,000 (about 1,000 painted, WiP) 0-1
