I have been reading forums and posts about the new tyranid codex for 5th, and I would ultimately like to build a fast hard hitting list
for competitions. If any one has any idea's or advice to help an old veteran learn some new tricks, I would be more than appreciative.
I plan on using some stealers w/ a brood lord (I have the new space hulk models and they are  sweet!)
somewhere around 50-60 gaunts with a tyrant, zoans, raveners*, and mawloc / trygons in support with a death leaper for added surprise!
I would also like to hear some opinions on how the venomthrope functions and pro's and con's
I should be posting a list once I get my feeder tentacles on a copy of the codex, and any feed back is always awesome!

Welcome to dakka! You'll want to post your army list on the army list section. As far as the Venomthrope's pros and cons, you can probably find them rather quickly in the dakka Tactics section.

Thanks all, I seriously just picked up the new book and I
can already feel those crazy ideas bubbling up. All the new
choices and tactical changes and seemingly dare i say
improvements, to the always evolving list? I plan on
posting a list tomorrow after a run through of the new book
any suggestions on things to change would be awesome
