Me and some of my friends are looking for some other people to come play with us on Sundays. We play at The Whiz store. It is located in Westborough, Mass. Give me a message if you care to join. Armies we have to face consist of Space Marines, Chaos Space Marinesx2, Orks, Tyranids, Tau, Eldar, Sisters of Battle. So almost every game we play is mixed up. Its enjoyable.

eh gads why the whiz!!!The terrain is lacking hardcore, most of the players are 12 and 13 and they act like it, plus they don't really support any events and the staff is pushy!!

Because outside of the I-93 circle, there are fewer gamestores with game tables to play.
You have The Whiz, Three Trolls, Greenfield Games... and I think that is all there is now.
I have never played there, but they are my FLGS. They are not as pushy now as they used to be when they opened. I do not find them anyway near as pushy as the GW stores used to be when they were in Framingham and I find the owners very open to hosting different games.

Hey guys, we have The 131 Gaming Group in Western Mass. We play at Off the Wall Games in Hadley every Wednesday night, starting at 3 and ending at 10. Come over to our forums, and send me a PM (I'm the Events Officer) with upcoming events you might have and I'd be happy to post it up if it isn't conflicting with one of our own.
We just kicked off our Winter 40K Campaign: Blood of Giants which will run for the next 6 weeks. It started off with a Planetstrike Megabattle, and we had 20 people in attendance. We're having an Epic battle somewhere in the middle, and it will be finished off with an Apoc Megabattle. It's been a lot of fun so far, and we had our own Fluff and Rules for it.
We're also having a 40K Tournament on February 27th. Admission is $10, and there will be prizes in store credit based on turnout. Slots fill up fast, head over via the link for more info.
It's always nice to meet fellow gamers, hope to see you all soon!

You must not have gone there any time soon. The terrain is quite amazing, and in an abundance. Ive only see maybe around 2-3 "kids" playing 40k. Most of the people I meet down there that play 40k, are 18+, but usually middle aged guys. The staff, I think is quite nice. They just don't seem to like us running across the street to Wendy's, and eating some burgers in the store.
Any of you guys ever go to Rising Phoenix Games? It was in Leicester, it recently closed down. In my opinion, one of the best game stores around.

To the guy in hadley: Would be cool, but your way too far west. The Whiz 20 mins away. Hadley more than an hour...T_T definately not down to drive that far. Sorry...but maybe someday. Anyways the sunday group is not a bunch of pre teens. our groups comprised of all dudes who're late teens early 20's. As long as you dont swear loudly and stuff the owners / store workers are friendly. They don't push you to buy anything, and for the most part leave you alone. They engage in friendly convos, and if you have any questions they answer em. The store actually DOES have tourneys but yea, don't know if they support any major events. The terrain is lacking hardcore? I dont know, it's pretty good by my standards, but i've only been to two gaming stores. I'll have to check out some others to see what a store that's not lacking would be. But yea, the offer's open, we're not working for the whiz or anything, and if you drive out to US, we'll make a point to drive out to you. We've just been playing against eachother solidly for like...months now and we just wanted to add some diversity to our chapter's gene-seed.

Really; that's awesome. I'm from Agawam and my nearby 40K friends are even closer (Belchertown and Ludlow). I'll have to hop on over and take a look.

I like were your heading with this. I moved to mass back in Sept so yes fairly recently. Not a fan of the whiz as said because they ahve screwed up my orders several times and when I went on a thurs I think it was their was a bunch of teenagers being stupid. I went to the testors rack and the female owner came up and keep telling me how GW was better and to buy that instead. No thanks to the Whiz.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

I'm planning on driving down for the 1000 point tourny Tuesday (16th ). I went to the bi-weekly tournies in Nov & Dec & they were great; three games at 1000 points a piece, 1 hour each, great prizes ($45 for 1st if I recall, which is cool with me for 3 hours of gaming).

I'll second Veterans Gaming. It's agreat store with really nice terrain. Dean, the owner, really treats his customers well.
For whatever reason my account got eaten by Dakka so this is a new one. Alpharius, I'm not sure if I remember you from DP. What's your name and what armies did you play? This is Mason BTW.

Funnily Enough I am going to this tourney as well,
Damn Go Dakka guys,
Hehe,
And Rising Pheonix Games was nice,
I helped do some of the gruntwork for the start of it,
But things went downhill
Intentions were outstanding, but economy tanking amongst other things didnt help new game store growth,

I think I have the easiest directions. I simply head straight 99%of the time once I hit Home Depot on Route 9 in Auburn. Easiest, yet longest ride I must take for my hobbies.

There's a sizeable gaming community in the Abington area. I play at Battleground Games in Abington, and if anyone would like to come by for a game, please feel free to call them to see if there are any players around.
They have 6 ready to go tables for tabletop war gaming, lots of terrain, and have open gaming just about every weeknight, and Saturday.
Hope to see you there!
