Previous Blog, for my Eldar and Space Marines.
With Warmachine putting out MkII (and plastics!), returning things to a bit of a level playing field as far as escalation goes, my wife and I decided to consider picking it up. We're taking it as our "painting small amounts of minis" game, since it lends itself to playing with only a few models/units. I'm'a going to play Khador, she's doing Menoth; I'll be doing all the assembling/converting. This will definitely be a slow going blog, as I am in school with much of my non-classwork time taken up by commuting (another reason why a skirmish-friendly game is welcome).
I've only assembled one model so far: a Decimator (Khador gun+buzzsaw heavy, it's apparently new to MkII). This served as something of a test model, as I'd not worked with the new Privateer plastics yet, and I needed to see how they hold up to the cutting/pinning/scraping that comes with doing up conversions. As such, this one's a fair bit simple: I replaced the weedy Khador smokestacks with something a little more beefy, gave the legs a bit more mobility (compared to the squatting nature of the standard model), and extended the barrel on the gun (the barrel was warped anyways, so I had to do it). I also did a very minor bit of sloppy putty around the sawblade, as I'm intending to paint it to look as if it is rotating.
Color-wise, I'm probably going to do a forest green + red scheme, somewhat similar to that seen
on the company Kodiak. This might seem a little odd given my proclivity for not following "official" color schemes, but I just couldn't think of anything better for this one.

The whole army's going to be themed as if it were fighting in the forest bordering Cygnar (lots of knocked-over lumber, etc) so the color should fit well once I start painting.
Coming soon: deciding what exactly I want to do with The Butcher...
