Awesome colour scheme, it reminds me of Angels of Absolution: one of my favourite colour schemes in all of 40k
I would suggest you make the capes crimson red to add a bit of more variation. Plus - red makes a lot of things look awesome anyway.
I love the idea of making your own characters. At the moment I'm working on a WIP venerable dreadnought named "Odilon Redon" I might try to make some fair rules for it as an HQ unit.
