I've done specifically what the Rule book says not to do and read it page by page. I noticed a glaring absence of the old Cross-Fire rule.
Question: I was wondering is this rule still in effect? Did I miss this situation in another section? I think I remeber reading that a unit must avoid going within 2" of an enemy unit unless assaulting but that isn't quite the same.
Background: For those of you who cannot remeber the Cross-Fire rule, it said that if an infantry unit falls back through an enemy infantry unit and does not or cannot make their regroup roll they are destroyed outright.
Objective: I ask because although it is morbidly out of date I still love playing the
DE and this used to be the only way they could capture slaves from certain armies like the
SM's

. Although as I recall from a previous edition a rewrite of the
ATSKNF rule stated that if they were assaulted they would automatically regroup it never outright covered Cross Fire so I didn't mind too much. But maybe this edition is the final blow to my beloved Dark Eldar and their slave raiding shanagins...
Alt. Question: Does anyone have any slave capture house rules that work within the current structure of the game but still leave the challenge that this mission used to bring?
Rant: Slave Nets were a piss poor attempt to bring slave raiding back because as long as the opponent didn't try or succeded in his Death or Glory strike then they would never capture anything.
