Since I play IG, I decided to try my hand at scratchbuilding my own Hydra battery. I'm only an amateur (read, brand spanking green) at this, so it would be great if I could get some tips or helpful criticism.
I made this almost entirely out of 5mm foam-board. It's quite sturdy, although I couldn't think of a decent idea for the radar dish on the front, so I just carved one our of spare board, so it does look kind of half-arsed. The entire turret is magnetized to a flat piece on the back.

Not a terrible start, but it lacks finish. Get some small diameter plastic rod, and add some rivets. Also, the thing need more detail. The guns, specifically, need some work. Finally, rummage through your bits box. Slap an aquilla on the front, try butting those/more antenna-vox bits on the top.

I'd use actual autocannons, either spare from heavy weapons teams or from the quad gun that comes with the Aegis defense line.
