I don't like it. You should really decide weather you want to foot slog or go mech. If you take a prism always take two.
Bright lances are crap. Rangers will be eaten by flamers and then your only troop choice is a fragile suicide flamer squad. And if you want storm guardians add a warlock with destructor otherwise they won't do to much and just get shot to bits after they disembark. I would prefer DA.

What I can say is that Rangers are better as pathfinders. They are very vulnerable to assaults and flamers and can't often shoot up their attackers enough to deter assaults. Guardians/Storm Guardians are fun to use. They hit with a decent amount of strength. They have little staying power though. I want to try them with an avatar to back them up, but am on a break doing SW at the moment. I can't really say your army is bad or good, just the comments I listed.

2,200 (18% Painted)

yea I dont like it either, while im not in the same boat as "go foot or go mech" i think your hybrid choices are no good. Its an incredibly small army at 1500, and your troop choices are all fragile and small. Anywho, I dont know what advice to give to change it since I would change almost all of it.

I agree with the three of you on at least a few points. Storm Guardians are a suicide squad, but fun. The rangers are total flamer bait. Brightlances are awesome, just overpriced.

What I liked the least about my list was no squad upgrade characters, no warlocks with destructor and singing spear, no exarch with dragons breath flamer and crackshot, and no exarch with executioner blade, acrobatics and possibly warshout which is useless almost all the time. I didn't have enough points to upgrade my farseer to Eldrad either.

I will have to experiment with pathfinders, I just think they are overpriced though, and without doom they suck, same as rangers, without doom, you just don't get much done.

I took this list to a tournament 2 days ago, saturday and played in what I think was an 18 player event. In the three games, I lost 1 squad of rangers in game 2 and game 3. I lost my storm guardians in games 1 and 3. My fire dragons died in games 1 and 3. Yriel died in game 3, and my wraithlord died in game 3 as well, plus it went stupid twice in the tournament.

My rangers were never once threatened by flamers, nor combat except the last game; where I used my storm guardians and one unit of rangers to draw out my opponents army, and let them get slaughtered in combat.

Keep the comments rolling, if anyone has another list they think is better please post it. I know there are better lists. I'll post my tournament results later.

I said it before and I'll keep saying it until someone listens to me. STOP taking bright lances. Not only are they over priced but only give you a one in 12 shot at destroying anything with AV 12 or more. And that's when it's twin linked. when it's not it's one in 18. Do you really wanna waste your points on a weapon that is only fifty percent likely to wreck a tank in a 6 turn mach. That means that during the entire game it might not wreck once. Wouldn't it be better to use more meltas or strength 10 or 9 weapons and use strength 8 only against transports and monsters, and in that case you're better of taking EML

I assume you agree on the wraithlord taking the brightlance is acceptable, and that you are opposed to the brightlance on the waveserpent.

I've seen lists where one focuses on str8 weapons, and squeezes 6 brightlances at 1500pts. The chances at that points level of encountering more than 1 landraider or multiple predators, makes the list inefficient. However... having 2 brightlances at 1500pts, gives an effective chance to ruin 1 landraider in a 1500pt game after 6 turns. Which seems reasonable. If I had the models, I probably would have run an EML and shuriken cannon instead, though at 1850, there's a good chance I would be running 2 brightlances on waveserpents because I will no doubt encounter landraiders and heavy armor at that points level. An entire list of brightlances, yeah lame, one or two carefully selected with a purpose in mind, not terrible considering its a minor points investment.

I don't subscribe to a lot of common theoryhammers in 40k. I don't like pure shooty mech, sometimes it just lacks the punch on some particulary well entrenched units. Foot slogging eldar, I've never seen it really being all that effective, you lose too much getting across the field, especially in the current environment where mech reigns supreme.Even still, I feel the need for mellee, if nothing else its fun.

The results of the tournament, 18 players, I faced black templars, space wolves and tyranids. 3 x 5 missions, taking 109pts, 2nd place grabbed 85 and 3rd place took 83pts.

cant aruge with the win, not sure how you beat nids with this list though, what was the nid list by any chance. Just because you lack the antihorde capabilities to hurt nids badly.

Anyways good job on winning, if the list works keep going with it, why ask for advice

This is what I seem to recall.

Super Hive Tyrant (5 wounds, instant death h2h attacks, 2 psychic powers or something wacky)
2 x zoanthrope, with lance shooting
3 x warriors w/ deathspitters
h2h carnifex, w/ bio plasma
2 x hive guard, protecting the super hive tyrant
2 x hive brood, with str8 guns
15 termoguants
elite choice genestealers x 10 - popped up in area terrain and attack the same round
troop choice genestealers x 10 - outflanked, came in on the side my opponent wanted
troop choice genestealers x 10 - outflanked, came in on turn 3, also on the side my opponent wanted.

I was looking for ideas to try another style list. Maybe run "the" list, run other peoples list and provide feedback on them.
