I am fairly new to Warhammer 40k, so please be polite if the answer is flamingly obvious, but my question is,

How should the range of the Bane Wolf be read as?

My question arises because the Bane Wolf is a variant of the Hellhound, in which up to 12in can be measured out before the template is used, but the Bane Wolf simply says template.

So, should I apply the Hellhounds range of +12 then template, or should I just use the template from the end of the barrel of the chem cannon?

Thank you for your advice & interpretations,

Because there are no extra rules in the entry that specifically apply to the banewolf, you use the template from the barrel of the gun.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

If the Bane Wolf had the Hellhound's range, there would never be a reason to take the Hellhound.

The Bane Wolf does not follow the Hellhound rules. You place the Template at the edge of the gun barrel like any other Template Weapon.

Thank you all for clearing this up, I just wanted to ensure that I would be able to field this unit appropriately before playing.

Fact-checking FTW.
