It's almost Valentine's Day. And you know what that means for us male dorks. As cliched as painting a model pink for my girlfriend is, I love this one. Pink has always been one of my favorite colors.

What I'm worried about is the lack of strong color contrasts. I tried to tie the all the highlights in to each other using Bleached Bone in all my mixes. But now that I look at the model, I'm not sure it has enough pop. Then again, it is BRIGHT PINK. Which might be enough "pop" for 3 models. Thoughts?

Painting the jewels ina dark colour and the clasps on the forearms and calves black might help, but it already looks good.

Make the gems a light blue or green, maybe wash the sword with a blue or green wash to give it a bit more contrast against the pink/red? I like it - screams killy like an arrow frog from South America.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

I think there's a TON of contrast. The shadows make it look just fine. I see a lot of different shades. Good job.

Painting the sword a light/dark shade of blue would contrast really nicely. Would look even better if you could freehand some red hearts onto it

Hmmm... the gems actually are blue, just a very dark one. I'm not very good at tiny highlights, but maybe it's worth a try.

The sword has a light blue/black wash on it as well, but maybe I should bring that out with some coruscating blue "power" running down it, but again: tiny highlights (my hands shake).

Thanks for the comments, everyone.
