Am I wrong here?
Yes.

The Doom of Malan'tai doesn't have a 3+ Invulnerable save

Uh am I missing something here? I was reading this in a another Doom of Malan'tai thread and didn't want to derail it with a different Doom question. In my codex the Doom of Malan'tai does have an 3+ Invulnerable save. Under special rules it has Warp Field refer to page 44. So I go to page 44 and it says Warp Field gives a Zoan a 3+ Invulnerable save. So why do people say the Doom dosnt get a 3+ Invulnerable save?

Warp Field states a Zoanthrope gets a 3++.

A DoM is not a Zoanthrope.

If a DoM is not a Zoanthrope then why put in the rule like that? So the DoM is paying for a rule points wise that it can't use?

For the same reason GW puts in any of their large numbers of badly written rules, typos, and other mistakes. That's what the RAW is though.

In before yet another thread where people moan constantly about Gwar being wrong despite his unassailable RAW position and ruling otherwise in his faq.

This has been discussed to death in multiple threads.

The Doom is not listed as being a type of Zoanthrope in its rules. But it has a Warp Field.

The two possibilities here are:
1: It's supposed to be considered a type of Zoanthrope
or
2: The inclusion of Warp Field in its entry is a mistake, ala Ork Stormboyz with the Waaagh! rule.

The fact that the entry includes a page reference as well as the rule would seem to make the error theory less likely... so at the end of the day, whilst the RAW doesn't allow the Doom to gain any benefit from the Warp Field, I would very much expect that everyone will play it as a type of Zoanthrope and give it the save.

Locking this one now rather than have this whole debate out all over again.
