So in the middle of march me and some friends are having a 30k-45k apoc battl depending on how many show up and i just wanted to get
some opinions on rules.

The first mostly because of the new guard and sm codex in which i am not very known to; you can give orders or have ic's that buff the
entire army do these only apply to units from the same codex?

Second rule there is a very good chance me ( csm ) and my grey knight friend will be on the same team to balance the points as close as
possible, if he uses the sacred incense wargear that decreases chaos units inititive by 1 in cc with the unit would my units be slowed to even
though their allied?

Third the deamon codex states a specific god aligned ic cannot lead another gods units... would it be able to lead csm units of other gods or
other armies units?

I know apoc goes outside normal rules and make a lot of grey areas and these rules will likely be house ruled before we start, I'd like opinions on
them still just to make sure im not performing blashphemy here.

THanks an more random apoc what if questions will likely follow

Its Apoc, it's meant to be worked out among the players.

IG orders are specific in the fact they are only available to be given to IG units.

SM abilities like Vulkans will have to be worked amongst your selves.

Sacred Incense only works for the unit equipped with it, so keep the CSM away from that single IC and the unit he is attached to and it will be ignored.

Daemons are the same boat as SM abilities, work it out.

Thanks for the reply we decided orders and sm ic abilites are codex units onliy. And deamons can only lead other deamons or csm with same mark. THanks again

If you're going to be playing a game that large, it'd be best if all the participants get together to discuss rules and collaboratively build the army lists.

The Guard FAQ covers this, by pointing out that orders can only be given to Guard units.

By my reading of it, only if you wind up in an assault with the model with the incense... which, if you're allied, shouldn't be happening any time soon.

Apocalypse rules that army special rules only apply to that army, not to allies. (Which also backs up the Guard Orders ruling, incidentally...)

With that in mind, I would probably be inclined to rule that IC's can also only join units from their own army.

Or simply go by the suggested set-up in the Apocalypse book and nominate one person to organise the game, and leave specific rule interpretations up to them.

It says in the DH codex if they are involved in and assault with the model carrying it, which would imply that even allied with the model carrying it, if they charge in and help him out, they would suffer the penalties.

I read 'involved in an assault with' as 'fighting against' rather than 'fighting in the same combat'... but I can certainly see how it could be read either way.
