I just reread the rules for this ability. I was shocked to read that it is used before every Shooting phase including the Foes. I have never seen anything like this. So I want to make shure, is this correct. It's used on your turn or phase and the opponents turn or phase, how ever you call it. So that is twice per turn.

If it is true, and I am not reading it wrong, is there any other weapons abilities that do this?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Yes, it is used every shooting phase, or twice per Game Turn.

One ability that also works on every player turn is Logans "The High King" rule, whick works at the start of your and the opponents turn.

Thank you once again Gwar. It is greatly appreciated. I never saw anything like this before so I thought I might have misread it.

Yeah it works in the opponents movement phase but has a 6" range so he can just walk away from it...

So yes it can work in their shootign phase in practice it rarely will.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

Potentially effective if you Spod the DOM in a group of heavy weapons units like IG HW Teams, Havocs, Lootas, Long Fangs, etc. Those squads can either sit there & take damage from the DOM, or they can move and forfeit their shooting for the turn.

This would be most effective when dealing with small HW teams, like Long Fangs and IG HW Teams, because each potentially lost wound has a greater negative impact upon that unit's shooting ability.

True again the Doom is more of a spoiler than anything an annoyance that can be lethal in the right situation but a situation that is easy for the opponent to avoid but in doing so that disrupts his plan (moving those HW teams, not castling etc).

Yeah, if you're able to pod in some other nasties though that arrive at the same time, you could give your opponent some serious heart burn in assessing target priorities.

Agreed. If another Spod or two dropped with some CC carnifexes or a Trygon popped up, then the player would have to decide which target needed those krak missiles' attention more....

Is there really a reason to not include a Mystiquisitor?
