Hi guys, me (CSM) and a nid friend are about to go into a couples tournament, but truth be told i have no idea how to make my list. It is 1000 pts per player, each using his own FOC, which makes it pretty hard for me, used to play 2k pts.

So basically we are asking for advice in what to field, any nice sinergy around for these 2 armies at such low points?

CSM 10k points
IG 3k points
Orks 2k points
WoC 3.5k points
VC 2.5k points

You have a few ways to go I think.
1) Godzilla list. This would be trying to include as many big/scary things as possible. 2 DPs with 2 Plague Marines squads (for holding objectives) backed up by a Defiler for Chaos. For Tyranids I think 1 cheapish Tyrant, Tervigon/25+Termagaunt squad (for scoring) with 2 Trygons. Fill in the rest as you see fit.

2) All out assault list. Chaos = DPs+Berserkers/Power Fists/Rhinos. Tyranids = Tyrant+Hormogaunts/Genestealers+Carnifex (Carnifex would be cheapish 2x Scy. Talons and go after Land Raiders and such).

3) Balanced lists. This would probably be the hardest to make work but it does give you more then a 1 dimensional list.
HQ: DP + Alpha Warrior
ELITE: Zoas (in pods),Termicide,Hive Guard
TROOPS: CSMs/Melta/Fists (in Rhinos) and Termagaunts/Warriors
HEAVY: Oblits
The idea here is that alot of the units you pick have an equivalent unit to pair up with (Termicide+Zoas, Oblits+Hive Guard) to work together and you have units that compliment each other by covering different roles (Melta/Fist CSMs for anti-tank and Termagaunts/Warriors for anti-infantry).

Personally, I think the Godzilla list would be the most fun.

Godzilla/Monster Mash was the first thing that sprang to my mind too! Flood them with big nasties and hope the opposing teams are too generic/well-rounded to cope.

If nothing else sounds like fun!

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Observations on complex unit wound allocation: If you're feeling screwed, your opponent is probably doing it right.
