Quick question regarding Summary execution.

If an infantry squad joined by a commissar fails a morale check, the commissar will execute the sergeant and the squad gets to reroll their morale check.

In the last codex edition, the commissar would take over the squad and you would now use his leadership to lead the squad.

In the current version, nowhere in the entry is it written that the commissar's leadership will take over if the sergeant is executed. What happens for morale check afterwards? Are they on the leadership of a regular guardsmen? Will the commissar execute a guardsmen should another morale check be failed later on?

Thanks.

The normal rules for Characters in units (Page 47 of the rulebook, 'Characters as Leaders') tell you to use the highest Ld in the unit for all Leadership tests.

Since the Commissar entry doesn't say to do any differently, that's what you do.

Note that this will apply even before an execution. If the Commissar's Ld is the highest in the unit, tests are made using his Ld. If the test is failed, he'll execute the unit's commander (which is the model besides himself with the highest Ld).

Thanks,

I had looked through the morale/leadership section of my book, but had not thought to verify under the character section.
