I don't anticipate this list being very competetive at all
I'm building this army for fun
With all of the deep-striking units and nice models (the whole army has snake bodies and talons) I think it'll be a blast
HQ (200 points)
Tyranid Prime (to lead a Warrior brood)
scything talons
adrenal glands
toxic sacs

Badly needs some form of +1 to reserves. Even one lictor, to allow for a possible turn 3 2+ reserve roll.. would be worthwhile.

You're going all DS but not taking Hive Commander meaning your units will turn up in nice bite size chunks for your opponent to take apart. Sorry to be harsh but I see a lot of problems with this list:
You've given adrenal glands AND toxin sacs to your warriors which is over kill in most cases and will provide no additional benefit. Whilst not giving them rending claws will severly handicap them against MEQ. To be honest in this list I'd advise boneswords.
You have just 10 troops models so I presume you are hoping to table everyone in objective based games? To do so whilst offering little threat to hordes and no threat to MEQ is some what optimistic.
You've got 2 Tyranid Primes but neither is in a shooting unit despite they mainly buff the shooting ability of a warrior unit and do very little to their CC ability (there is no difference between WS5 and WS6 in 90% of circumstances).
Raveners are meh suppose they are cheap DSing warriors minus synapse and scoring ability. So to me pretty worthless.
Toxin sacs on the Carnifex will make it worse against EVERYTHING! Toxin sacs on the trygon will make it worse against 99% of things. Look how many points you are putting into those carnifexes and ask yourself why are you spending more points on a Cranifex than you would on a more effective Trygon?
Cluster spines on the spods is a bad idea. They HAVE to shoot at the nearest enemy target and with their BS and a large blast they are very likely to be hitting your own troops almost as often as the enemy! Get TL deathspitters on all of them!

I agree with FlingItNow, Carnifex's DS'ing in need to do something when they arrive so I would mutate these into DakkaFex's. Give them TL Devourer's with brain leach worms for immediate effect.
Personally I wouldnt bother with them at all. They fall quite easy having only 4 wounds and if your really wanting to take them you need to increase your chances at them both coming down at the same turn.
If your going Ninja with Nids A Tyrant with Hive commander is pretty much essential.

this is good advice or just take 2 more Trygons instead and save yourself a tonne of points...

In my opinion, there's a few changes you'd do well to make:
- Ditch the Toxin Sacs on Tyranid Primes, the Trygon Prime and the Carnifexes. You're making the Carnifex and Trygon in particular MUCH worse by doing it (you'll need a 4+ to Wound Marines by using Toxin Sacs, the only benefit being you'll be able to re-roll Wounds. Ditch them, and rely on the base S6/S9 attacks.
- Consider giving the Primes Rending Claws. While re-rolling all misses with 2 sets of Talons is good, the Rending ability is incredibly useful with models that have a lot of attacks. Another option is to put a gun on it and have it with a shooty Warrior Brood, as FlingItNow mentioned.
If you're going for mass Deep Strike, get something to help your reserves arrive. Either Lictors (to help from Turn 3), or preferably a Hive Tyrant with Hive Commander. This'l ensure you're not waiting around too long for reserves, or even worse that they turn up in small amounts.
- It might be a good idea to get Rending Claws on the Raveners too.
- The Carnifexes are a problem. I have an old CC-orientated 'Fex too, and I've tried dropping it in via a Spore. It dies first turn in almost every instance. The only thing it really accomplishes is distracting the enemy heavy weapons for a turn, which isn't much for such an expensive model. Either drop it in but reconfigure it as a gunfex, otherwise footslog it or drop the Fexes altogether. Bio-Plasma will let them shoot out of the drop-pod, but it honestly isn't THAT dangerous. I've found CC Carnifexes to be a massive waste of points so far, and plan on ditching mine for Trygons/Tyrannofexes.
Honestly though, I'd drop at LEAST one of the Carnifexes and use the points to get more Warriors, seeing as multiple wounds is your theme. 2 5-strong Squads won't last long against most armies.
But yeah, definitely at the very least drop the Toxin Sacs on the 'Fex and Trygon, you're really hurting their potential with them.
It'll probably be an amusing army to play but as you said, not very competitive in its current state.

Excellent suggesstions so far, and exactly what I was looking for.
I just wanted to clarify something about the Mycetic Spores.
On page 90 under Options it says "Take one of the following". Do I HAVE to take a weapon from that list (in this case Cluster Spines) or can I save 50 points in my list by NOT taking a weapon for the Spores?

I don't think you have to take any of the extra weapons- they're listed under 'Options', which usually indicates extras that you MAY pay points for.
So no, I don't think you have to take them.

You don;t hAVE to take the weapons on the spores. It is a nice extra, cluster spines are a bit suicidal though as they do HAVE to shoot at the nearest target and with Bs2 that scatter could go anywhere!
