Monring Dakkites,

I am thining about running Vibro Cannons this weekend and wanted to know the ruling on it's strength.

The example in the rulebook is Fail so please give me a correction.

Vibro Cannon - squad of 3.
They roll to hit, 2 hit, what is the Strength or the shot?
they roll to hit, 1 hits, what is the strength?
All 3 hit?

What is the max STR?

Perhaps i am thinking too literally about the codex entry, sorry.

roll to hit ... if any hit then

For each vibro cannon in the unit (over the first) add +1 strenght to the profile. (note they add to the strength even if they miss)

now draw a line 36" long from one barrel ... any unit this line passes through take D6 hits (for 3 vibro cannons this would be at Str6) vehicels auto matically take a glancing hit (with AP - this means that you will be rolling the damage table with a -3 modifier)

(edit) should be noted that since you only draw one line the best option is to only take 2 ... this gives D6 Str5 shots with a 75% chance of happening

Vibro Cannon - squad of 3.

They roll to hit, 2 hit, what is the Strength or the shot?

The enemy unit would take D6 S6 shots
they roll to hit, 1 hits, what is the strength?

The enemy unit would take D6 S6 shots
All 3 hit?

The enemy unit would take D6 S6 shots

Basically, if one hits then they all hit, per se... .and the enemy unit will take D6 hits, regarless of how many cannons hit.

Strength is determined by the number of cannons in the battery.

So 1 cannon = S4, 2 cannons = S5, 3 cannons = S6.

No need for a ruling, as it tells you exactly how it works in the codex...
