Monday night I fielded SW with a Rhino, 3 razerbacks and a vindicator.
I like to move models 6" to prevent insta hits from tank hunting units.

As vehicles are immobilised they block undamaged tanks.
When we have extra shots. After the turn 1&2 carnage is over
We would finish off damaged/wounded models to make shure they are not going to do anything.

With terrain and dead rhinos, I block in Vehicles. I have to travel side ways to find a opening, Exposing side armor.
Should I move them down field, to be desroyed. Hopfully blocking Heavy weapons units.?

Don't forget that you can rotate the vehicle at the end of the movement phase to face your opponent with the front armor (which only really matters to the Vindicator anyway; the other vehicles you listed have the same armor value front and side).

Aren't wrecks just Difficult Terrain? I don't remember, but if they are, you can drive over them (don't forget to test for immobilization).

You can also plan for that at the beginning of the battle and deploy so that wrecks won't screw up your battle plan too badly.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

The eye of terror.

It's one of the weaknesses of all-mechanized forces. As Lorek noted it's something to take into account during your deployment. You could also consider reserving some units.

Why did the berzerker cross the road?

yeah if they get blown up they are just treated as rough terrain. But if they get shaken of imoble you have a problem. Its a god send that most of the table i play on have a good amount of terrain. The terrain we have is nice and we put alot of effort into. Even more so for the ruined city board so glogging up the clear paths with tanks happens quite often ans really just something you have to deal with and work around. Spreading out so everyone has there own clear path is ussually the best bet.

I don't mean to sound gruendlich, but you're talking about exactly 5 rhino-sized models. How in the world are you moving them so that you create a traffic jam? I play mech IG with 9 chimera and russ hulls and another 3 Vendettas and I rarely have issues, and only then typically on Spearhead deployment or cluttered terrain environments.

You really should not be having problems blocking yourself in with only 5 vehicles.

The vehicles are destroyed -wrecked. New Terrain. Blown up would be better. A Doserbalde would have helped for crossing hills and walls.

No more excuses. Sourclam is correct.
Thanks for the input.

Perhaps you should take fewer vehicles.

Rhinos must be able to move around each other to have their full effect, whereas vehicles that are focusing more on shooting can be fine shooting past the vehicles in front of them.

Immobilized is worse. It's effectively destroyed and is now causing a roadblock.

Actually, there's three option for a 'dead' Rhino:

Immobilized - no other vehicle can move through it, but can still contest objectives and shoot, may be able to self-repair in future turns.

This one sucks the most because of the Traffic Jam situation, since you can't get over or through it, you gotta go around it.

Wrecked - counts as Dangerous Terrain (roll "1's" when crossing with infantry and lose the model with NO save), blocks LOS.

Good for cover saves, and you can drive over it, if you're willing to risk the 1-in-6 chance of Immobilization.

Explodes - vehicle removed & replaced with a crater (Difficult Ground), which provides 4+ cover for infantry.

Drive through with clear LOS and 1-in-6 chance of Immobilization.

I've destroyed more Terminators climbing over their Wrecked Land Raider to people forgetting the Dangerous Terrain effect than I can remember.

The doser blade looks good. There is a 1-6 chance to fail Dangerous terrain? The doserblade gives a re-roll?
? would someone varify this??
That sounds great. I avoid dangerous terrain. In a test game, a Ork Mega-battlewagon was destroyed trying to cross a wall. It wasn't even that tall.
