Markerlights vs a KFF

I read that constant effects can never be negated or nullified. Markerlights can drop coversaves...can it drop coversaves of a KFF. Vehicles are obscured, other units are in cover...Go!

"Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, love is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose, against statistically long odds." ~ HK-47

Please explain where you read this, because it is complete and utter rubbish.

ELD.28G.01 – Q: Can „Conceal‟, „Embolden‟ & „Enhance‟ ever be nullified or cancelled?
A: No. Persistent abilities can never fully be nullified or cancelled [clarification].
Ref: ELD.49B.01

It is in the INATFAQ v3.2

If those are persistent abilities then the KFF is as well.

Though I know nearly all rules are house rules.

Ok, true, they cannot be completely nullified, I'll give you that, but reducing a cover save is not nullifying it, it's modifying it.

The GW Tau FaQ states that markerlights "can be used to make cover saves worse. . .so the coversave can be completely eliminated."

Which is completely wrong, as is usual for GW FAQs.

Well, I won't argue it too far, but I believe what GW is saying is clear: if it's a cover save, it can be reduced/modified/made-worse until it's gone.

Whether a ML can reduce Conceal, Embolden, or Enhance under the INAT FAQ could be debated. However, since there is no such ruling on a KFF, and since it is a coversave, I would say that ML's can reduce KFF's until they're gone.

What this means, with regards to those abilities, is that they are implied in the Eldar codex to be psychic powers, despite not needing a psychic test to use and being constantly functioning. That ruling in the INAT FAQ is actually saying you can't use a psychic hood or other similar wargear/ability to nullify them as though they were psychic powers.

The Markerlight simply alters the cover save and can be used to effectively eliminate the cover save conceal offers.

It's not wrong at all... Unless you mean some rules lawyery reading of "-1 penalty on any cover saves" whereby the markerlight makes them better?

Since a 6 is never defined as auto passing a save, and nothing says a save can't be modified to a 7+ or worse (afaik) there's no reason markerlights can't be used to totally eliminate a cover save.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Noted, was worth asking thank you for the discussion.
