Here's my new unit of 10 High Elf Archers finally painted so they look much better than "Primed Elf". Primed Elf Army ftw.

You will probably notice as I did, that the High Elf Archer heads look really horrible (model wise, not the painting), not elf-like at all. Native American possibly? Or just weirdly sculpted heads at best. So I will leave this unit as it is. But for my second unit of 10 archers, I will buy the Wood Elf hooded archer heads and use those on my high elf archers giving two unique units

Heh, nice! Colours are clean and crisp and they all look lovely together. Only critism I have to make is that there is too much grey. You should repaint the bow and base like a brown or bonish colour. Also try using a bright colour for the head bands. Anyways, nice work!

I like the color scheme, and I bet looking at them from table-top distance all ranked up they look really slick. But there's something disconcerting about archers lacking eyes.

Maybe they're playing a game like pin the tail on the donkey.. You know something like "shoot the ork in the ass."

With that high quality painting, I would go the extra 5 miles to string them and add arrows. it would like 100 up their coolness.

I think vaul highlights the purple up a bit more, and uses the grey fairly sparingly. Try hormagaunt purple in place of the grey and highlight it up a lot more, almost to pure white.

Not a huge fan of the color scheme, but that's personal preference. Very nice, clean work!

Its hard to se properly on most of the pictures, but on the one from above the grey tones look very highlighted and nice.
I think the Idea of using w elf heads is great. These are not the best of heads (however, I remember the horribly grotesk heads of the old high elf archers, pre multipart boxes

Anyways im more then aware on how vaul highlighted his models. I actually have his color scheme in an email as he gave it to me for a little help.

For the bases I know its an odd color but I like my bases to comlipment the models in some way. (unless its the good old fasion goblin green which is my personal fav.) I feel that the grey bases really help to bring out all the other colors on the models. Makes them more striking.

AS nice as vauls colors are he is kinda sloppy with them if you ask me. The picture above proves this as he used purple on the wood of the arrows when they shouldn't be well... purple.

Also the yellow he uses is no longer in production by gw and I did not run out to get the vallejo equiv for it.

Other then that I stuck to his color scheme. And they came out fairly close if not a perfect copy of the models.
Biggest thing is Callums happy with them and I am happy with that as its a job well done in my books if the clients happy.

Yeah I love the colors and how each of the three main colors bring each other out. I really think my Archmage on Moon Dragon & Dragon Mage will just be Eye Candy that will make your jaw drop!!!!!!! It will be really interesting how the color scheme will play into units like White Lions and Swordmasters.

Hopefully I will have some more units painted in the near future, so I can post some more pics!!!
