===============================

First turn, Drop Pod drops with a Dreadnought. Hopefully, it will pop at least one vehicle, or mc. With Vulkan, all of my Meltas are Twin Linked. Depending on the enemies army setup, I may drop the Drop Pod with Terminators in first. But im contemplating removing one of the drop pods, and simply letting the Terminators DS next to the Drop Pod with the Locator Beacon. Opinions?

My plan is to split the first Tactical Squad into two 5x man squads. The Melta Gun & Sergeant, along with 3x Bolters will ride in the Rhino, with Vulkan. This unit will rush up at the enemy lines, purely popping tanks. Vulkan will go his own way, and tie up a squad in cc, so the Meltas can do their work. The other half of the squad, will be behind the Rhino, using it to block LoS, hopefully popping tanks with the Multi Melta, or providing re enforcements for assault.

The second Tactical Squad will sit on an objective, but if it is Annihilation, they will put pressure on the opposite side of the enemy, as the Melta squad/Vulkan.

This list is a variant to one ive been using the past few weeks. My previous list only had a single Drop Pod, and an Iron Clad Dreadnought. I haven't lost with it once. But I figure the 2x Drop pods will allow me versatility, depending on what army I may face. I have 15 points left over, any suggestions? Im thinking a PW on my second squad.

How's that work putting Terminator in a Drop Pod. If you buy it as a dedicated transport for the tactical I thought it couldn't start out with another squad inside it?

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

It can now in 5ed

in fact the drop pod can come down totally empty

look up dedicated transports in the book, now they are only purchased by a unit, but that ends the distinction.

other units may now begin the game inside any units transport, transports may even start empty

Terminators can also purchase DPs themselves(6 max though)

Locator beacons are great upgrades for DPs, remember they don't just work for teliporters, assault squads and Landspeeders can use them too

BRB says the only limitation of a dedicated transport is that when it's deployed it can only carry the unit it was selected with, after the game begins, it can then transport any friendly infantry unit...

SO how can you put terminators in it?

Looks like a good list!

Feels a bit empty for sum reason, but thats when I remembered it was only 1000pts!

Go ahead and fire the Terminators into the drop pod! I wouldnt complain if I was you enemy. The BRB is open to suggestion! Especially on a little rule as picky as that.

You would save points by taking less transport tho, and probably cause more death by taking more meltas and flamers!

Full on, Full on!

Ya, I don't think Terminators can use Drop Pod. General_Chaos is correct. Im gonna use another Rhino, and bring along the other squad 1/2 in squad 2 with a Melta, then leave the Plasma Cannon at an objective, or staying towards the back, or out of assault range.

Newt, it seems that what speed I have, helps me alot. My drop pod is in the middle of the enemy on my 1st turn, dropping a Dred, with MM Twin Linked. Im most likely going to pop a transport. That would make me upset on my opponents first round, if it happened to me. Then my Rhino gets to your front line 1st turn, and unloads 2x Melta's and 1x Flamer. Popping more vehicles. It is alot to deal with on the first turn, never mind the Terminators hopefully coming from reserves, to drop next to the Drop Pod. Every game I play, it seems my opponent cannot handle that much stuff happening to them at once, against MEQ's anyways. But with 1 more squad with a Melta to deal with, its a good chance your MC's/Elites will be dead, or have little wounds left, your vehicles are going to be messed up.
